TEXTING & DRIVING
Yesterday, I left my home and started on trek to the WNST studios, when I found myself behind a car swerving across the center line of Ritchie Highway ….
I’ll admit 1pm is a little early for drunken drivers, but I’ve seen such incidents at all times. I decided to pass the vehicle and upon pulling aside, I made a pretty telling observation. The driver was a teenaged girl, who was texting on her phone.
Nothing pisses me off as badly as people who negligently risk the lives of others on our roadways. The girl from yesterday’s incident could’ve swerved off the road and hit a telephone pole. She could’ve died.
Worse yet, she could’ve swerved off the road and hit a child on a bicycle or pedestrian waiting to cross the street. There is no excuse for blatant disregard of laws or public safety. Stop texting when you’re driving !!!!
