SILENT BATS
There is a very good chance that teams advancing to the World Series feature a pretty powerful lineup. Unless, of course, we’re talking about the San Francisco Giants.
I still can’t believe that lineup is in the World Series, let alone enjoying a 2-0 lead. But the bigger surprise is certainly the quiet offense of the Texas Rangers. You can’t win ballgames if you don’t hit, right?
Through the first couple games, the pewtrid numbers regarding the Rangers offense are pretty telling. Elvis Andrus is hitting .167, Michael Young is hitting .125, Josh Hamilton is hitting .125, Nelson Cruz is hitting .111, and they’re the first 4 batters in the lineup.
It’s simple, .167 + .125 + .125 + .111 = SUCKS.
Well, that’s it. I’m done ranting and looking forward to this afternoon’s FRIDAY FOOTBALL FRENZY. I’ll talk to you, at 2pm ……
