Tonight’s Orioles – Tigers Lineups

August 03, 2009 |

The Orioles begin a six-game roadtrip tonight in Detroit’s Comerica Park against the Tigers in the opening game of four between the two squads.  After being swept for the second time in 10 days by the Red Sox over the weekend, the O’s could use a little shot of momentum against the A.L. Central leaders in Motown before going north of the border to Toronto for three later this week.

The pitching matchup tonight is an interesting one, which pits O’s rookie Chris Tillman against one of the American League’s very best, Just Verlander.

The highly touted Tillman will make only his second career start and will be looking to pickup his first win after going just 4.2 innings and yielding three solo homers in his ML debut five nights ago in a 7-3 Orioles victory over the Royals.  Verlander, who beat Jeremy Guthrie and the Orioles all the way back on May 30th at Camden Yards, is 12-5 with a 3.14 ERA this season.

As for the teams’ starting lineups, here they are:

Brian Roberts – 2B
Nolan Reimold – LF
Adam Jones – CF
Nick Markakis – RF
Aubrey Huff – 1B
Ty Wigginton – 3B
Luke Scott – DH
