Mixed Martial Arts history, weird use of food, and MMA report tomorrow

November 06, 2008 |

One of the best pound for pound fighters in the world in the sport of mixed martial arts took only his second loss of his career tonight. Urijah Faber who had not lost a fight in over 3 years, and enjoyed a 2 year reign as the World Extreme Cagefighting Featherweight champion, entered the cage tonight with a pro record of 21-1. One round into his title fight with 16-4 Mike Brown, Faber would see his reign come to an end due to a technical knockout due to strikes. This will probably now be mentioned as one of the bigger upsets in the history of mixed martial arts.

Also tonight, on the latest installment on The Ultimate Fighter, there was some of the cruelest tricks I have ever seen played on one another done on the show tonight. I do not know if it is up on YouTube yet, but soon, I am sure you can search ultimate fighter and sushi and ultimate fighter and fruit platter and find out what I am talking about.

Be sure to tune into the MMA report with Rob Long and John Rallo Thursday from 2-3pm EST. Rob and John will be talking to Jorge Gurgel tomorrow who has a fight coming up on the next UFC pay per view on November 15.
