Top 10 Baseball Distractions

4. Cycling: Tour de France (Stage 16 Wednesday 6am from Pau to Bagneres-de-Luchon live on NBC Sports Network Stage 17 Thursday 7am from Bagneres-de-Luchon to Peyragudes live on NBC Sports Network Stage 18 Friday 8am from Blagnac to Brive-la-Gaillarde live on NBC Sports Network Stage 19 Saturday 8am from Bonneval to Chartres live on NBC Sports Network Stage 20 Sunday 8am from Rambouillet to Paris Champs-Elysees live on NBC Sports Network)

Ah, Paris. I spent some time there recently. I didn’t like everything. I DID like this…

I stopped at the little shop by St. Paul like eight times. I was there for five days. Do you blame me?

3. Pro Wrestling: WWE Raw 1000 (Monday 8pm from St. Louis live on USA)

They’ve been counting down “Top RAW moments” for a few weeks in WWE programming. The shame is that they can’t really talk about the singular greatest moment in WWE history because the star departed for TNA…

“The Million Dollar Princess has become The Dairy Queen” is perhaps the finest moment in the career of Jim Ross. Just brilliant.

2. Artscape (Friday-Sunday Mount Royal District)

I love Artscape. The musical lineup is terrible this year, but it doesn’t change the fact that I’ll be making an appearance. Of course, while I’m there I’ll probably be thinking of Artscapes past, like the greatest night in Charm City history…

And if you’re thinking about (very) early holiday gift ideas for your boy, I’d suggest stopping by Robert McClintock’s booth…

1. Golf: British Open/Open Championship (Thursday & Friday 5am Saturday 7am Sunday 8am from Lancashire, ENG live on ESPN), PGA Tour True South Classic (Thursday-Sunday 3pm from Madison, MS live on Golf Channel)

And since it’s British Open week, I can only assume that the weather in the UK looks roughly like this…

They call it a “beautiful summer day.”

Flexing my mic muscles since 1983…
