			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>The University of Maryland men&#8217;s basketball team will face Marist in the first round of the 2013 Ezybonds Global Payments U.S. Virgin Islands Paradise Jam.</p>
<p>The Paradise Jam will take place Nov. 22-25, with the games set to be televised by CBS Sports Network.</p>
<p>The first game of the event pits Northern Iowa vs. Loyola Marymount at 2:30 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 22, with Maryland and Marist following at approximately 5 p.m. The evening session includes Providence vs. Vanderbilt and Morgan State vs. La Salle.</p>
<p>The losing teams in the first round will move to the consolation bracket and play on Saturday, Nov. 23, while the winners will play on Sunday, Nov. 24. The championship game is scheduled for 10 p.m. on Monday, Nov. 25.</p>
<p>Maryland is coming off a 25-13 season in which it advanced to the semifinals of the ACC Tournament and National Invitation Tournament. Marist went 10-21 last season.</p>
<p>Game times are subject to change. Times listed are Atlantic Standard Time (one hour ahead of Eastern Daylight Time).</p>

<p>No. 5 seed Morgan State (17-14) posted an 82-71 win against No. 8 seed Bethune-Cookman and will face No. 7 seed N.C. A&amp;T on Saturday, March 16 at 5 p.m. in Norfolk Scope Arena in the Finals. The Bears have had unprecedented success in the MEAC Tournament under head coach <dfn>Todd Bozeman</dfn>. The Bears have won two titles and appeared in four and have improved its MEAC Tournament record to 14-4 under Bozeman.</p>
<p>The Bears will enter the Saturday night&#8217;s contest against the Aggies having won its last eight games, including 11 of its last 12. The game will be televised nationally on ESPNU.</p>

<p>• After opening the season with a 71 point effort in a win against UTSA, the Bears have gone 17-14 while averaging 68 points and 45 percent shooting.</p>
<p>• Morgan State shot 67.5 percent from the line last season, and so far through the 31 games the Bears are shooting 59 percent (409-688 FT).</p>
<p>• The Bears, who held Delaware State to 3 of 15 from 3-point range on March 4<sup>th</sup> in Baltimore, have allowed an average of 65 points and opponents are shooting 30 percent from 3-point territory.</p>
<p>• Morgan State shot a season-high 59.7 percent against Md.-Eastern Shore, including a season best 63.6 percent from 3-point territory, with 12 steals and nine blocked shots.</p>
<p>• <dfn>Justin Black</dfn> has scored 446 points in 31 games and ranked No. 4 among the MEAC&#8217;s scoring leaders … he&#8217;s currently averaging 14.4 ppg.</p>
<p>• <dfn>Justin Black</dfn> was just shy of posting a triple-double at Liberty. The junior guard finished with a career-high 12 rebounds to go along with nine points and nine assists … he leads the team in scoring.</p>
<p>• <dfn>DeWayne Jackson</dfn> ranks among the top theft artists in school history. Jackson has collected 169 steals with the Bears and currently ranks No. 2 (finished No. 4 in the MEAC). The school record for career steals is held by Terrence Wright (1992-96) with 186 career steals &#8230; Jackson is 18 steals away from becoming the school&#8217;s new leader.</p>
<p>• <dfn>Shaquille Duncan</dfn> leads the Bears in blocked shots. The sophomore ranked No. 5 in the MEAC and currently has 60 blocks (2.2 bpg).</p>
<p>• The combination of <dfn>DeWayne Jackson</dfn>, <dfn>Anthony Hubbard</dfn> and <dfn>Justin Black</dfn> have provided almost 60 percent of the scoring for the Bears so far this season.</p>
<p>• The Bears&#8217; first 10 games of the 2012-13 season were on the road where they finished 3-7.</p>
<p>• The Bears used nine different lineups this season, but Coach Bozeman has used a lineup 12 times this season that puts <dfn>DeWayne Jackson</dfn> at forward with <dfn>Justin Black</dfn>, <dfn>Blake Bozeman</dfn>, <dfn>Anthony Hubbard</dfn> and <dfn>Ian Chiles</dfn>.</p>
<p>• Redshirt junior <dfn>Ian Chiles</dfn>, who stands at 7-foot-2, 270-pounds, had a career night against Florida A&amp;M by recording18 points (9-13) with six rebounds and two blocks against Florida A&amp;M … he&#8217;s currently averaging 9.4 ppg, 5.2 rpg and 1.6 bpg.</p>
<p><strong>LAST TIME VS. N.C. A&amp;T</strong><br />
January 26, 2013 &#8211;  &#8211; Senior swingman <dfn>DeWayne Jackson</dfn> and redshirt-junior center <dfn>Ian Chiles</dfn> led Morgan State to a hard fought 55-52 victory over North Carolina A&amp;T at Corbett Sports Center. Jackson finished with 14 points and a career-high 12 rebounds, while <dfn>Ian Chiles</dfn> posted 14 points and 10 boards. Chiles was 7 for 8 from the field as the Bears post play continued to keep the Bears close, despite a poor perimeter shooting night. <dfn>Anthony Hubbard</dfn>, who chipped in 10 points, also scored on a fastbreak layup with 34 seconds left to give Morgan State a 53-52 advantage. The Bears held A&amp;T scoreless in the final moments to improve its record to 6-10 overall and 3-2 in the MEAC.</p>
<p><strong>SCOUTING THE AGGIES</strong><br />
The Aggies welcomed back nine veterans, including four starters, from a squad that posted a 12-20 overall record, finished 7th in the MEAC with a 7-9 ledger. Lamont Middleton leads the Aggies averaging 12.2 points and is shooting 37 percent from the field. Adrian Powell is also posting double-figures for A&amp;T by averaging 12.2 points and shooting 34 percent from 3-point range. Austin Witter, the MEAC Defensive Player of the Year, is the team&#8217;s leading rebounder by averaging 7.2 rpg to go along with 6.2 ppg. Head coach Cy Alexander (Catawba &#8217;75) enters his first season as the Aggies head coach and he currently holds a 362-324 record in his 24th year of coaching.</p>
<p><strong>MORGAN STATE TABBED THIRD IN PRESEASON POLL</strong><br />
Morgan State was picked to finish third in the 2012-13 Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference men&#8217;s basketball preseason poll behind Savannah State and Delaware State.</p>
<p><strong>JACKSON AND CHILES EARN PRESEASON HONORS</strong><br />
Morgan State senior <dfn>DeWayne Jackson</dfn> was selected to the Preseason All-MEAC First Team by the conference head coaches and sports information directors. Junior center <dfn>Ian Chiles</dfn> was selected to the Second Team.</p>
<p><strong>JACKSON&#8217;S FINAL POSTSEASON</strong><br />
MSU senior <dfn>DeWayne Jackson</dfn> enters his final MEAC Tournament in the Orange &amp; Blue. The 6-foot-8 swingman has been a major contributor at Morgan State where he has won a MEAC Championship, played in the NCAA Tournament and has received a number of postseason honors, including MEAC Rookie of the Year. Jackson is the only player in school history to have the combination of over 1,500 points (1,576 – No. 5), 500 rebounds (555 – No. 8), 150 steals (169 – No. 2) and 150 assists (185).</p>
<p><strong>EXCEPTIONALLY EFFICIENT?</strong><br />
<dfn>Ian Chiles</dfn> is another Bear that finished the regular season with a top-10 MEAC ranking as the redshirt-junior center is No. 9 in the conference with his .534 field-goal percentage and No. 9 in blocks averaging 1.6 per game.</p>
<p><strong>THE SETUP ARTIST?</strong><br />
<dfn>Justin Black</dfn> ranked No. 10 in assists at 3.0 per game and No. 7 with his 1.0 assist-to-turnover ratio amongst all MEAC players.</p>
<p><strong>RECOVERING THE SWAG</strong><br />
The Bears have rebounded from last year&#8217;s dismal season in which the Bears recorded a 9-20 finish. It marked <dfn>Todd Bozeman</dfn>&#8216;s worst season as a head coach, and it was Morgan State&#8217;s worst season since going 4-26 in 2005-06.</p>
<p><strong>JACKSON AND CHILES EARN PRESEASON HONORS</strong><br />
Morgan State senior <dfn>DeWayne Jackson</dfn> was selected to the Preseason All-MEAC First Team by the conference head coaches and sports information directors. Junior center <dfn>Ian Chiles</dfn> was selected to the Second Team.</p>
<p><strong>JACKSON CLIMBING THE MSU RECORD BOOK</strong><br />
During the Bears opening round victory against S.C. State, <dfn>DeWayne Jackson</dfn> (1,576 pts, 555 rebs., 185 asts) surpassed Ernest Garrett (1,540 points &#8211; 1952-55) to become the school&#8217;s No. 5 all-time leading scorer. Jackson is one of three Bears on MSU&#8217;s all-time scoring list who have been coached by <dfn>Todd Bozeman</dfn>. <dfn>Kevin Thompson</dfn> (2009-12) ranks No. 9 (1,487 points) and Reggie Holmes (2007-10) is the school&#8217;s all-time scoring leader with 2,051 points.</p>
<p><strong>HOME GROWN</strong><br />
Morgan State has eight players from the Metropolitan-D.C. area, including one from Baltimore. Senior <dfn>DeWayne Jackson</dfn> (Bowie High) and sophomore <dfn>Blake Bozeman</dfn> (Solebury Prep) are both from Bowie. Transfer guard Daryl Traynham is from Melwood (Wise High), walk-on <dfn>Daon Riley</dfn> is from Severn (Old Mill High), and <dfn>Cedric Blossom</dfn> is from Columbia (Montrose Christian). <dfn>Anthony Hubbard</dfn> is a product of Woodbridge (Va.), while junior <dfn>Justin Black</dfn> attended DeMatha High, <dfn>Willis Turnipseed</dfn> played at City High, and <dfn>Donte Pretlow</dfn> was a standout at Dunbar High in Baltimore.</p>
<p><strong>BOZEMAN WIN PERCENTAGE AT MSU</strong><br />
<dfn>Todd Bozeman</dfn>, now in his seventh season as head coach of the Bears, has an overall win percentage of .562 (127-99) after 225 games at Morgan State. That winning mean is the second highest among 15 head coaches in the history of the Morgan State men&#8217;s basketball program. Nathaniel Frazier&#8217;s winning percentage of .578 (166-121) is the highest percentage in Morgan State history.</p>
<p><strong>ALL-CONFERENCE SELECTIONS UNDER BOZEMAN</strong><br />
During his tenure in Baltimore, <dfn>Todd Bozeman</dfn> has coached seven (7) different players to All-Conference honors, including four Players of the Year selections: <strong>Ron Timus</strong> (2007 2nd Team), <strong>Boubacar Coly</strong> (2008 Defensive POTY, 1st Team), <strong>Jamar Smith</strong> (2008 Offensive POTY, 1st Team), <strong>Marquise Kately</strong> (2008 &amp; 2009 2nd Team), <strong>Reggie Holmes</strong> (2007 All-Rookie, 2008 2nd Team, 2009 Offensive POTY, 2009 &amp; 2010 1st Team), <strong><dfn>Kevin Thompson</dfn></strong> (2009 All-Rookie, 2010 Defensive POTY, 2010 1st Team, 2011 2nd Team), <strong><dfn>DeWayne Jackson</dfn></strong> (Rookie of the Year, 2011 1st Team).</p>
<p><strong>THREE IN DOUBLE FIGURES</strong><br />
In the first 31 games of the season, three Bears average more than 12 points a game <strong><dfn>Justin Black</dfn></strong> leads with by averaging 14.4 ppg, <strong><dfn>DeWayne Jackson</dfn></strong> averages 13.5 points per game, while <strong><dfn>Anthony Hubbard</dfn> </strong>is averaging 11.5 points and 6.7 rebounds on the boards.</p>
<p><strong>HIGH CLASS ON THE GLASS</strong><br />

<p>No. 5 seed Morgan State (16-14) posted a 64-61 overtime win against No. 4 seed Savannah State and will face No. 8 seed Bethune-Cookman on Friday, March 15 at 6 p.m. in Norfolk Scope Arena in the Semifinals. The winner of the Morgan State-Bethune Cookman showdown will face either N.C. A&amp;T or Delaware State at 5 p.m. Saturday in the championship.</p>
<p>The Bears have had unprecedented success in the MEAC Tournament under head coach <dfn>Todd Bozeman</dfn>. The Bears have won two titles and appeared in four and have improved its MEAC Tournament record to 13-4 under Bozeman.</p>
<p>The Bears will enter the Friday night&#8217;s contest against the Wildcats having won its last seven games, including 10 of its last 11.</p>

<p>• The Bears, who held Delaware State to 3 of 15 from 3-point range on March 4<sup>th</sup> in Baltimore, have allowed an average of 65 points and opponents are shooting 30 percent from 3-point territory.</p>

<p>• <dfn>DeWayne Jackson</dfn> ranks among the top theft artists in school history. Jackson has collected 169 steals with the Bears and currently ranks No. 2 (finished No. 4 in the MEAC). <p>• Redshirt junior <dfn>Ian Chiles</dfn>, who stands at 7-foot-2, 270-pounds, had a career night against Florida A&amp;M by recording18 points (9-13) with six rebounds and two blocks against Florida A&amp;M … he&#8217;s currently averaging 9.4 ppg, 5.2 rpg and 1.6 bpg.</p>
<p><strong>LAST TIME VS. BETHUNE-COOKMAN</strong><br />
March 11, 2011 &#8211; <dfn>Kevin Thompson</dfn> came off the bench to put on a dominating performance, scoring a game-high 22 points to help Morgan State defeat Bethune-Cookman, 61-48 in the semifinals of the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference men&#8217;s tournament at the Joel Coliseum.  The Wildcats (21-12), the Number 1 seed and regular season champion, were led CJ Reed, the MEAC Player of the Year, with seven points. The Bears (17-13) were the Number 4 seed and advanced to the championship where they fell to No. 2 seed Hampton 60-55.</p>
<p><strong>SCOUTING THE WILDCATS</strong><br />
The Wildcats welcomed back nine veterans, including a pair of starters, from a squad that posted an 18-17 overall record, finished in 4<sup>th</sup> place in the MEAC regular season with an 11-5 ledger. All-MEAC forward Adrien Coleman leads the Wildcats averaging 18.1 points, 7.4 rebounds and is shooting 54 percent from the field. Kevin Dukes (10.8 ppg) is also averaging double-figures. Head coach Gravelle Craig (Cleveland State &#8217;94) is in his second season as the Wildcats head coach and he currently holds a 32-36 (.307) record.</p>
<p><strong>MORGAN STATE TABBED THIRD IN PRESEASON POLL</strong><br />
Morgan State was picked to finish third in the 2012-13 Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference men&#8217;s basketball preseason poll behind Savannah State and Delaware State.</p>
<p><strong>JACKSON AND CHILES EARN PRESEASON HONORS</strong><br />

<p><strong>JACKSON&#8217;S FINAL POSTSEASON</strong><br />
MSU senior <dfn>DeWayne Jackson</dfn> enters his final MEAC Tournament in the Orange &amp; Blue. The 6-foot-8 swingman has been a major contributor at Morgan State where he has won a MEAC Championship, played in the NCAA Tournament and has received a number of postseason honors, including MEAC Rookie of the Year. Jackson is the only player in school history to have the combination of over 1,500 points (1,560 – No. 5), 500 rebounds (550 – No. 8), 150 steals (169 – No. 2) and 150 assists (181).</p>
<p><strong>EXCEPTIONALLY EFFICIENT</strong><br />
<dfn>Ian Chiles</dfn> is another Bear that finished the regular season with a top-10 MEAC ranking as the redshirt-junior center is No. 9 in the conference with his .534 field-goal percentage and is No. 9 in blocks averaging 1.6 per game.</p>
<p><strong>THE SETUP ARTIST</strong><br />
<dfn>Justin Black</dfn> ranked No. 10 in assists at 3.0 per game and No. 7 with his 1.0 assist-to-turnover ratio amongst all MEAC players.</p>
<p><strong>RECOVERING THE SWAG</strong><br />
The Bears have rebounded from last year&#8217;s dismal season in which the Bears recorded a 9-20 finish. It marked <dfn>Todd Bozeman</dfn>&#8216;s worst season as a head coach, and it was Morgan State&#8217;s worst season since going 4-26 in 2005-06.</p>
<p><strong>JACKSON AND CHILES EARN PRESEASON HONORS</strong><br />

<p><strong>JACKSON CLIMBING THE MSU RECORD BOOK</strong><br />
During the Bears opening round victory against S.C. State, <dfn>DeWayne Jackson</dfn> (1,560 pts, 550 rebs., 181 asts) surpassed Ernest Garrett (1,540 points &#8211; 1952-55) to become the school&#8217;s No. 5 all-time leading scorer. Jackson is one of three Bears on MSU&#8217;s all-time scoring list who have been coached by <dfn>Todd Bozeman</dfn>. <dfn>Kevin Thompson</dfn> (2009-12) ranks No. 9 (1,487 points) and Reggie Holmes (2007-10) is the school&#8217;s all-time scoring leader with 2,051 points.</p>
<p><strong>HOME GROWN</strong><br />
Morgan State has eight players from the Metropolitan-D.C. area, including one from Baltimore. Senior <dfn>DeWayne Jackson</dfn> (Bowie High) and sophomore <dfn>Blake Bozeman</dfn> (Solebury Prep) are both from Bowie. Transfer guard Daryl Traynham is from Melwood (Wise High), walk-on <dfn>Daon Riley</dfn> is from Severn (Old Mill High), and <dfn>Cedric Blossom</dfn> is from Columbia (Montrose Christian). <dfn>Anthony Hubbard</dfn> is a product of Woodbridge (Va.), while junior <dfn>Justin Black</dfn> attended DeMatha High, <dfn>Willis Turnipseed</dfn> played at City High, and <dfn>Donte Pretlow</dfn> was a standout at Dunbar High in Baltimore.</p>
<p><strong>BOZEMAN WIN PERCENTAGE AT MSU</strong><br />
<dfn>Todd Bozeman</dfn>, now in his seventh season as head coach of the Bears, has an overall win percentage of .560 (126-99) after 224 games at Morgan State. That winning mean is the second highest among 15 head coaches in the history of the Morgan State men&#8217;s basketball program. Nathaniel Frazier&#8217;s winning percentage of .578 (166-121) is the highest percentage in Morgan State history.</p>
<p><strong>ALL-CONFERENCE SELECTIONS UNDER BOZEMAN</strong><br />

<p>No. 5 seed Morgan State (15-14) dropped No. 12 seed South Carolina State 61-52 and will face No. 4 seed Savannah State on Thursday, March 14 at 8 p.m. in Norfolk Scope Arena in the Quarterfinals. The Bears have had unprecedented success in the MEAC Tournament under head coach <dfn>Todd Bozeman</dfn>. The Bears have won two titles and appeared in four and have improved its MEAC Tournament record to 12-4 under Bozeman.</p>
<p>The Bears will enter the Thursday night&#8217;s contest against the Tigers having won its last six games, including nine of its last 10.</p>

<p>• After opening the season with a 71 point effort in a win against UTSA, the Bears have gone 15-14 while averaging 68 points and 44 percent shooting.</p>
<p>• Morgan State shot 67.5 percent from the line last season, and so far through the 29 games the Bears are shooting 58 percent (381-648 FT).</p>
<p>• The Bears, who held Delaware State to 3 of 15 from 3-point range on March 4<sup>th</sup> in Baltimore, have allowed an average of 66 points and opponents are shooting 30 percent from 3-point territory.</p>
<p>• Morgan State shot a season-high 59.7 percent against Md.-Eastern Shore, including a season best 63.6 percent from 3-point territory, with 12 steals and nine blocked shots.</p>
<p>• <dfn>Justin Black</dfn> has scored 410 points in 29 games and ranked No. 4 among the MEAC&#8217;s scoring leaders … he&#8217;s currently averaging 14.3 ppg.</p>
<p>• <dfn>Justin Black</dfn> was just shy of posting a triple-double at Liberty. The junior guard finished with a career-high 12 rebounds to go along with nine points and nine assists … he leads the team in scoring.</p>
<p>• <dfn>DeWayne Jackson</dfn> ranks among the top theft artists in school history. Jackson has collected 169 steals with the Bears and currently ranks No. 2 (finished No. 4 in the MEAC). The school record for career steals is held by Terrence Wright (1992-96) with 186 career steals &#8230; Jackson is 18 steals away from becoming the school&#8217;s new leader.</p>
<p>• <dfn>Shaquille Duncan</dfn> leads the Bears in blocked shots. The sophomore ranked No. 5 in the MEAC and currently has 55 blocks (2.2 bpg).</p>
<p>• The combination of <dfn>DeWayne Jackson</dfn>, <dfn>Anthony Hubbard</dfn> and <dfn>Justin Black</dfn> have provided almost 60 percent of the scoring for the Bears so far this season.</p>
<p>• The Bears&#8217; first 10 games of the 2012-13 season were on the road where they finished 3-7.</p>
<p>• The Bears used nine different lineups this season, but Coach Bozeman has used a lineup 12 times this season that puts <dfn>DeWayne Jackson</dfn> at forward with <dfn>Justin Black</dfn>, <dfn>Blake Bozeman</dfn>, <dfn>Anthony Hubbard</dfn> and <dfn>Ian Chiles</dfn>.</p>
<p>• Redshirt junior <dfn>Ian Chiles</dfn>, who stands at 7-foot-2, 270-pounds, had a career night against Florida A&amp;M by recording18 points (9-13) with six rebounds and two blocks against Florida A&amp;M … he&#8217;s currently averaging 9.2 ppg, 5.2 rpg and 1.6 bpg.</p>
<p><strong>LAST TIME VS. SAVANNAH STATE</strong><br />
January 15, 2013 &#8212; Morgan State lost a fierce battle, 78-70, in double overtime.  After an early deficit for MSU, the game was close until the very end, with 11 ties and 15 lead changes. SSU needed a pair of three-pointers by standout guard Preston Blackmon in the last 26 seconds to help send the ballgame into the second OT. Blackmon scored 15 of his game-high 41 points after regulation, setting a SSU school record for points in a Division I game.</p>
<p><strong>SCOUTING THE TIGERS</strong><br />
The Tigers welcome back 14 veterans, including five starters, from a squad that posted a 21-12 overall record, finished as the MEAC regular season champions with a 14-2 ledger. SSU had a total new look with nine players on this year&#8217;s roster consisting of five junior college transfers, four freshmen, and four walk-ons. All-MEAC forward Rashad Hassan leads the Tigers averaging 12.8 points and is shooting 54 percent from the field. All-MEAC guard Preston Blackmon (12.0 ppg) is also averaging double-figures. Head coach Horace Broadnax (Georgetown &#8217;86) enters his 9th season as the Tigers head coach and he currently holds a 104-126 (.452) record.</p>
<p><strong>MORGAN STATE TABBED THIRD IN PRESEASON POLL</strong><br />
Morgan State was picked to finish third in the 2012-13 Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference men&#8217;s basketball preseason poll behind Savannah State and Delaware State.</p>
<p><strong>JACKSON AND CHILES EARN PRESEASON HONORS</strong><br />
Morgan State senior <dfn>DeWayne Jackson</dfn> was selected to the Preseason All-MEAC First Team by the conference head coaches and sports information directors. Junior center <dfn>Ian Chiles</dfn> was selected to the Second Team.</p>
<p><strong>JACKSON, BLACK SELECTED ALL-MEAC  </strong><br />
Senior guard <dfn>DeWayne Jackson</dfn> and junior <dfn>Justin Black</dfn> of Morgan State University&#8217;s men&#8217;s basketball team were named to the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) All-Conference Team. It was the second consecutive season Jackson was selected to the first-team, and it was Black&#8217;s first time on the team as a third team selection.</p>
<p><strong>JACKSON&#8217;S FINAL POSTSEASON</strong><br />
MSU senior <dfn>DeWayne Jackson</dfn> enters his final MEAC Tournament in the Orange &amp; Blue. The 6-foot-8 swingman has been a major contributor at Morgan State where he has won a MEAC Championship, played in the NCAA Tournament and has received a number of postseason honors, including MEAC Rookie of the Year. Jackson is the only player in school history to have the combination of over 1,500 points (1,549 – No. 7), 500 rebounds (543 – No. 9), 150 steals (169 – No. 2) and 150 assists (178).</p>
<p><strong>EXCEPTIONALLY EFFICIENT</strong><br />
<dfn>Ian Chiles</dfn> is another Bear that finished the regular season with a top-10 MEAC ranking as the redshirt-junior center is No. 9 in the conference with his .534 field-goal percentage and is No. 9 in blocks averaging 1.6 per game.</p>
<p><strong>THE SETUP ARTIST</strong><br />
<dfn>Justin Black</dfn> ranked No. 10 in assists at 3.0 per game and No. 7 with his 1.0 assist-to-turnover ratio amongst all MEAC players.</p>
<p><strong>RECOVERING THE SWAG</strong><br />
The Bears have rebounded from last year&#8217;s dismal season in which the Bears recorded a 9-20 finish. It marked <dfn>Todd Bozeman</dfn>&#8216;s worst season as a head coach, and it was Morgan State&#8217;s worst season since going 4-26 in 2005-06.</p>
<p><strong>JACKSON AND CHILES EARN PRESEASON HONORS</strong><br />

<p><strong>JACKSON CLIMBING THE MSU RECORD BOOK</strong><br />
During the Bears opening round victory against S.C. State, <dfn>DeWayne Jackson</dfn> (1,549 pts, 543 rebs., 178 asts) surpassed Ernest Garrett (1,540 points &#8211; 1952-55) to become the school&#8217;s No. 5 all-time leading scorer. Jackson is one of three Bears on MSU&#8217;s all-time scoring list who have been coached by <dfn>Todd Bozeman</dfn>. <dfn>Kevin Thompson</dfn> (2009-12) ranks No. 9 (1,487 points) and Reggie Holmes (2007-10) is the school&#8217;s all-time scoring leader with 2,051 points.</p>
<p><strong>HOME GROWN</strong><br />
Morgan State has eight players from the Metropolitan-D.C. area, including one from Baltimore. Senior <dfn>DeWayne Jackson</dfn> (Bowie High) and sophomore <dfn>Blake Bozeman</dfn> (Solebury Prep) are both from Bowie. Transfer guard Daryl Traynham is from Melwood (Wise High), walk-on <dfn>Daon Riley</dfn> is from Severn (Old Mill High), and <dfn>Cedric Blossom</dfn> is from Columbia (Montrose Christian). <dfn>Anthony Hubbard</dfn> is a product of Woodbridge (Va.), while junior <dfn>Justin Black</dfn> attended DeMatha High, <dfn>Willis Turnipseed</dfn> played at City High, and <dfn>Donte Pretlow</dfn> was a standout at Dunbar High in Baltimore.</p>
<p><strong>BOZEMAN WIN PERCENTAGE AT MSU</strong><br />
<dfn>Todd Bozeman</dfn>, now in his seventh season as head coach of the Bears, has an overall win percentage of .558 (125-99) after 223 games at Morgan State. That winning mean is the second highest among 15 head coaches in the history of the Morgan State men&#8217;s basketball program. Nathaniel Frazier&#8217;s winning percentage of .578 (166-121) is the highest percentage in Morgan State history.</p>
<p><strong>ALL-CONFERENCE SELECTIONS UNDER BOZEMAN</strong><br />
During his tenure in Baltimore, <dfn>Todd Bozeman</dfn> has coached seven (7) different players to All-Conference honors, including four Players of the Year selections: <strong>Ron Timus</strong> (2007 2nd Team), <strong>Boubacar Coly</strong> (2008 Defensive POTY, 1st Team), <strong>Jamar Smith</strong> (2008 Offensive POTY, 1st Team), <strong>Marquise Kately</strong> (2008 &amp; 2009 2nd Team), <strong>Reggie Holmes</strong> (2007 All-Rookie, 2008 2nd Team, 2009 Offensive POTY, 2009 &amp; 2010 1st Team), <strong><dfn>Kevin Thompson</dfn></strong> (2009 All-Rookie, 2010 Defensive POTY, 2010 1st Team, 2011 2nd Team), <strong><dfn>DeWayne Jackson</dfn></strong> (Rookie of the Year, 2011 1st Team).</p>
<p><strong>THREE IN DOUBLE FIGURES</strong><br />
In the first 29 games of the season, three Bears average more than 12 points a game <strong><dfn>Justin Black</dfn></strong> leads with by averaging 14.1 ppg, <strong><dfn>DeWayne Jackson</dfn></strong> averages 13.6 points per game, while <strong><dfn>Anthony Hubbard</dfn> </strong>is averaging 11.4 points and 6.7 rebounds on the boards.</p>
<p><strong>HIGH CLASS ON THE GLASS</strong><br />
Morgan State ranked No. 1 in the MEAC averaging 14.1 offensive rebounds per game and has recorded double-digit offensive boards in 23 of 29 games. MSU averaged 12.1 offensive rebounds.</p>
<p><strong>PAINT PLAY</strong><br />
One area where the Bears have been consistent is under the basket. Morgan State ranked No. 4 in the league in total rebounding at 35.9 per game, No. 2 in offensive rebounds at 37.1, No. 2 in field goal percentage at 44.6 and No. 2 in blocked shots (5.2).</p>

<p>NORFOLK, Va. &#8211; Anthony Hubbard came off the bench to score 16 points and Morgan State pulled away in the second half to defeat South Carolina State 61-52 Monday night in the first round of the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference tournament.</p>
<p>Hubbard scored 11 points in a span of just under 7 minutes midway through the first half to rally the fifth-seeded Bears (15-14), who will play Savannah State in a Thursday night quarterfinal.</p>
<p>South Carolina State (6-24) went cold after scoring the game&#8217;s first 10 points and leading 32-29 at halftime. The 12th-seeded Bulldogs shot 25.7 percent (8 of 31) in the second half, including 1 of 13 from 3-point range after making 4 of 6 first-half 3-pointers.</p>
<p>DeWayne Jackson scored 12 points for Morgan State to move into fifth place on the Bears&#8217; career scoring list with 1,549 points.</p>
<p>Matthew Hezekiah paced South Carolina State with 17 points and 10 rebounds.</p>
