February 28, 2009 | Thyrl Nelson

At least watch the last 50 laps, tune in sometime around 7:30 or so, if you won’t commit to the race. I guarantee, that once you have a reason to root for someone, you’ll enjoy the race. You may not enjoy it as much as football, baseball or basketball, or any other number of sports for that matter, but it is enjoyable.

As for the game, there are $2500 worth of cash prizes on the line, I know you’ll be interested in that. The winner will walk away with $1250, second place will get $750, and the third place winner will receive $500 in cash courtesy of and

Friday thoughts: NBA All-Star Game, NASCAR and … chocolates

February 13, 2009 |

For whatever reason, I don’t have as much interest in the NBA All-Star Game as I used to. It’s probably because I’m getting old, or maybe it’s because there is so much more to watch on TV. I’m thinking that’s probably it. I mean come on, watching the Wizards against the Bucks, when you could [...]
