Navy Spring Football Game Saturday Afternoon in Annapolis

April 13, 2012 | WNST Staff

The Navy football spring game will take place on Saturday at 12 noon at Navy-Marine Corps Memorial Stadium. Admission is free, although there will be a $5 charge to park.

The head coach of the Blue team is the Superintendent of the Naval Academy, Vice Admiral Mike Miller, while the head coach of the Gold team is the Commandant of Midshipmen, Capt. Robert Clark. The Blue team will consist mostly of players listed first or second on the depth chart.

The game will be played with normal clock rules in the first half and a running clock in the second half except for the final two minutes of the game if it the score is close. The quarterbacks will not be live for either side.

Last year, the Gold nearly pulled off the upset losing 7-6 when Caleb King recovered a Gold fumble in the end zone early in the fourth quarter. The game was played in miserable conditions with temperatures in the low 40s and a steady rain that increased in intensity throughout the night.

Saturday’s forecast is much better with temperatures in the low 70s with a light breeze.

Navy fans that can’t make it out to the game on Saturday can watch it live for free on Navy All-Access:
