FOX Sports’ Jay Glazer is reporting that Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger is out for the Sunday night game against the Ravens.
Glazer said that exercise-related headaches caused the Steelers to shut Roethlisberger down for the contest. Dennis Dixon will start in his place.
Roethlisberger suffered a concussion last Sunday in the loss to Kansas City. Charlie Batch relieved Roethlisberger, but hurt his left wrist, and was ruled out of Sunday’s game yesterday in Pittsburgh’s final injury report.
Dixon has played in just one game in two seasons. He completed one pass in the 2008 season finale in a blowout victory over Cleveland.
Dixon was the 2007 Pac-10 Offensive Player of the Year at Oregon, and he finished fifth in the Heisman Trophy voting behind winner Tim Tebow of Florida.
