It’s been a whirlwind couple of months here at WNST.net since Jennifer Aparicio was diagnosed with leukemia on March 20, 2014. Fast forward nearly three months, and we are fully immersed in our #JennStrong and #BMorePositive efforts. We’ve raised over $10,000 for There Goes My Hero and swabbed hundreds and hundreds of people over the past three months. Thanks to Todd Heap, Eugene Monroe, Brian Billick, Marlon Brown, and Dennis Pitta for helping us get started on our mission to find a donor for everyone who has been or will be afflicted with this dreaded disease.
Next up on the #JennStrong train? Super Bowl MVP Joe Flacco.
Yes, Joe Flacco is clearly one of the best players to ever pass through Charm City and his legacy isn’t even close to being fully written. But off the field, he’s an even better person than he is player. He’s always been a friend and advocate of WNST and he loves partnering up with us a few times a year to benefit local charities. Just last November, Joe helped us raise $15,000 to benefit Living Classrooms Foundation.
Joe will join us yet again on Tuesday, June 24th at 8PM at Padonia Ale House. We’ll talk with Joe about family, football, life, leukemia, charity, and much more. If you want to come hang out and watch the show and/or get swabbed, it is FREE to join us. If you are dining at a table, there is a $10 minimum per person. If you would like an autograph and/or picture with Joe, we’re asking for a $50 donation that will include a 11X14 photo of Joe from Super Bowl 47 that he will sign, as well as the opportunity to have your picture taken with Joe. A portion of the proceeds will benefit There Goes My Hero and their efforts to save lives and help families affected by blood cancer. Note: Please do not bring any helmets, jerseys, etc for Joe to sign. He will only be signing the 11X14 photo that is given out to anyone who makes the $50 donation.
Donations can be made starting the afternoon of Monday, June 23rd up until showtime. You’ll be given the 11X14 photo upon donating. Just bring that back on Tuesday for the show and you’ll be all set to get that autographed and for your photo opportunity with Joe!
We’re very excited by this opportunity to continue to raise funds, donors, and awareness as the entire WNST family continues to battle right alongside Jenn in her courageous fight. There Goes My Hero has been incredible to work with and their mission is flat out awesome. Thanks to Erik Sauer, Michelle Bresnick Walsh, Terry Weigel, and the rest of their crew for being tremendous partners in what has been an awful yet inspiring journey.
Big thanks to Steve Michaels and the entire crew at Adams Jeep of Aberdeen (who will be parking a pimped out purple jeep right outside Padonia Ale House) for being the title sponsor of this event and for their unwavering support of WNST and #JennStrong. Thanks to Carl Delmont at Freedmont Mortgage for presenting this and all of our live events over the years. We also greatly appreciate the love and support from the folks at 1st Mariner Bank as well as KELLY.
We’ll see you on Tuesday, June 24th at 8PM with Joe Flacco at Padonia Ale House!
