Indeed, Belichick unloaded his PROBLEM upon the shoulders of Childress and the Vikings.
And, that’s the way it goes.
The New England Patriots traded away one of the greatest receivers in the game, and they became a better team. Call it addition by subtraction, I suppose.
The Minnesota Vikings traded for one of the greatest receivers in the game, and they lost a higher percentage of games with him, as opposed to without him. Call it what it was …. a stupid risk.
So a month after trading one of the greatest wideouts in the game, the Patriots stand as the best team in the NFL. The Vikings, meanwhile, are scraping rock bottom with Jerry Jones and his Dallas Cowboys.
Let the deal stand as a prime example of some daunting realities …..
Football really is the greatest TEAM-based game known to sports.
The greatest players, as we’ve witnessed before, are not necessarily winners.
And, Bill Belichick, knows the balance of winning and performing better than anyone.
His team is enjoying its best football in a couple years. His headaches and distractions tied to Randy Moss are a distant memory. And, he’s got the Vikings’ 3rd round picked tucked in his hip pocket.
Not bad, huh?
Let the Randy Moss speculation begin. He’s a big time threat and an awesome talent. He’s got plenty of baggage and he will travel ….
