16. Dallas Cowboys (LW: 17)
Hell of a performance Sunday. They’re still just 5-4, but they look to be moving in the right direction.
15. Tennessee Titans (LW: 20)
I know a group of people that had to be VERY happy to hear the news about Matt Schaub. This team just received life in the AFC South.
14. New York Jets (LW: 10)
I have no problem with Rex Ryan’s outburst. I guess reports of the Jets’ return to prominence were premature.
13. Atlanta Falcons (LW: 11)
Do you get the feeling Mike Smith will be thinking about his decision for a long time to come?
12. Oakland Raiders (LW: 19)
The Carson Palmer move sure as hell looked better Thursday night.
11. Detroit Lions (LW: 5)
Matt Stafford throwing picks-not a good recipe for Motor City victory.
10. Cincinnati Bengals (LW: 7)
They have another chance to make an AFC North statement Sunday at M&T Bank Stadium. I pray to God they don’t.
9. Houston Texans (LW: 9)
They had the AFC South clinched…right up until the point where they had to play Matt Leinart.
8. Chicago Bears (LW: 12)
They can’t win the NFC North, but they just put themselves in a hell of a spot in the Wild Card race.
7. Pittsburgh Steelers (LW: 8)
They’re like zombies. They just won’t die.
6. Baltimore Ravens (LW: 2)
To be the best team in the AFC, you’ll have to deal better with success.
5. New England Patriots (LW: 13)
The conference is so out of whack that they’re the best team a week after losing back to back games.
4. New York Giants (LW: 4)
In my heart I don’t believe they’re this good.
3. New Orleans Saints (LW: 6)
I don’t know how much the return of Sean Payton to the sidelines helped, but I’ll guess it did.
2. San Francisco 49ers (LW: 3)
The defense is excellent. The team has answered all questions. What else can be said?
1. Green Bay Packers (LW: 1)
They sure are.

With a full understanding that these rankings mean nothing, I still post this:
I understand why you have the Ravens ranked higher than the Steelers – those 2 wins can’t be ignored at this point. But the Patriots higher than the Steelers? Really? Based on a victory over the team you have ranked 14th (the Jets), and after losses to a team you do not think is very good (the Giants) and to the Steelers? I am pretty sure that if the Ravens played the Pats tomorrow, the Ravens would kick butt, or at least win. I say:
7 – Patriots
6- Giants
5 -Steelers
4 – Ravens
3- Saints
2- 49ers
1 – Packers
Just sayin’
(Edit from GMC: I’m giving this the “if the Steelers played the Patriots in Pittsburgh” treatment. The Ravens beat the Steelers twice, that matters. Patriots might win in New England…)
