4. High School Football: I-95 Kickoff Classic-McDonogh vs. Gonzaga (DC) (Thursday 7:30pm Byrd Stadium), Archbishop Curley vs. Patterson (Friday 5pm Unitas Stadium), Dunbar vs. Calvert Hall (Friday 7:30pm Unitas Stadium), Friendship Collegiate Academy vs. Mt. St. Joseph (Saturday 7:30pm Prince George’s County Sports and Learning Complex); St. Paul’s @ Perry Hall (Friday 7pm)

If you can allow me to be serious for a second (thanks Lance Storm), it’s obviously a very difficult time for PHHS Gators like myself.

The above picture shows Monday’s shooting victim (Daniel Borowy) and one of the heroes of Monday’s horrifying event, guidance counselor (and fellow PHHS alum) Jesse Wasmer. (Teacher Richard Rosenthal is also one of the heroes.)

I love this collage. It shows me so much about the spirit of my alma mater. Blessings to all.

3. Auto Racing: IndyCar Series Grand Prix of Baltimore (Friday-Sunday Inner Harbor race Sunday 2:30pm live on NBC Sports Network); NASCAR Advocare 500 (Sunday 6:30pm from Atlanta live on ESPN)

True story. At least year’s BGP, I had nosebleed seats…

It was cool though. Even from my vantage point, I could clearly see Dale Earnhardt won the race.

2. NFL: EA Sports Madden NFL 13 available for PlayStation3/XBox360/Wii (Tuesday); Baltimore Ravens @ St. Louis Rams (Thursday 7pm from St. Louis live on WBAL11/Comcast SportsNet); NFL Cutdown Day (Friday coverage on AM1570

Let’s see what Paul Rudd and Ray Lewis think about the new Madden…

And I’ll assume that on cutdown day, someone will have to go for the Ravens to make room for former Chicago Bears DT Anthony “Spice” Adams…

1. College Football: William & Mary @ Maryland (Saturday 3pm from Byrd Stadium live on; Navy vs. Notre Dame (Saturday 9am from Dublin, Ireland live on CBS); Towson @ Kent State (Thursday 7pm from Kent, OH live on Comcast SportsNet PLUS/; Sacred Heart @ Morgan State (Saturday 1pm Hughes Stadium); Shenandoah @ Stevenson (Saturday 7pm Mustang Stadium); Randolph Macon @ Johns Hopkins (Saturday 12pm Homewood Field); Michigan vs. Alabama (Saturday 8pm from Arlington, TX live on ABC)

You’re going down, Tribe. (I hope.)

Honestly, I’m just grateful as hell that college football is back. I went to a baby shower last Saturday. A BABY SHOWER. I need things to do!

And since Navy opens the season against Notre Dame, here’s this.

I still get chills.

Flexing my mic muscles since 1983…
