7. Tim Howard —

With Monday night’s appearance in the ’14 WC opener vs. Ghana, Howard tied Keller with 101 career appearances in red, white and blue.  Stepped into the spotlight in the 2010 WC in South Africa, playing all four U.S. games and earning “Man of the Match” honors for his performance vs. England.  In the third game of the ’10 WC, Howard made a late save on a header attempt, then distributed the ball that started the last-ditch rush to tie the Algeria game on a final minute goal from Landon Donovan.

Here’s a video recap of Howard’s successful career with the U.S. team.
