4. Clint Dempsey —

Is now 2nd on the U.S. all-time goal-scoring list with 38 career tallies after opening the 2014 World Cup with a goal 32 seconds into the match vs. Ghana.  Scored the team’s only goal in the 2006 World Cup and then got on the scoreboard in 2010.  His goal vs. Ghana to start the ’14 WC makes him only the third player in the nation’s history to score a goal in three different World Cups.
