SEAN STINNETT

Producer, Sports Night Show with Michael Popovec

Sean A. Stinnett joined WNST Sports Talk Radio in 2002, starting as an intern for former 6pm-8pm show featuring Rob Long.  In 2003, Sean accepted a permanent producer position and continues on his path to success.

Like most of the WNST staff, Sean was born and raised in Baltimore - West Side, to be exact.  During his youth, he became a true fan of Baltimore sports - cheering on the Colts and Orioles.  His love of soccer kept in him in tune with the Blast.

Of course like many other young men, Sean played Pop Warner football for Arbutus Recreation and Little League baseball for Yale Heights.  Sean also picked another hobby in his youth: playing the trumpet.

Sean stepped away from playing sports to focus on music.  When the time came in figuring which high school he wanted to attend, his first and only choice was the Baltimore School for the Arts.  Sean was accepted to the school, along with the likes of Jada Pinkett-Smith, Josh Charles and the late Tupac Shakur.

While attending the School for the Arts, Sean wanted to find a way to get back into sports because the school did not have any sport activities. He then auditioned for the Baltimore Colts’ marching band and was accepted but playing two instruments, the baritone and trumpet.

Sean didn’t feel that was enough because he truly wanted to play sports.  Therefore, after his junior year in high school, he left the Baltimore School for the Arts and enrolled into Towson High School.  Once he stepped onto the campus, he immediately tried out for the football team and during the spring played baseball.

Sean finally received his school diploma in 1989 and then moved on to bigger and better things.  However, it took a little time in figuring exactly what he wanted to do in life.  Sean had gone from college to college until he found another challenge.  He then enrolled into the Hollywood Film Institute located in Los Angeles, California where he began studying film production.

While studying film, he discovered a new love and that was still photography.  Sean began to train his eye in taking pictures around the Los Angeles area as well as shooting back home in Baltimore.

After several years flying back and forth from Baltimore and Los Angeles, Sean decided he needed to finish up on his college degree and he applied for Coppin State University and was accepted.

During the first semester Sean could not figure out what his major would be because he already had an A.A. Degree in Communications and a Diploma in film production.  He then met with his future advisor Ruffin Bell, who is now the program coordinator for the Cal Ripkin, Sr. Foundation, about a new major on campus, which was Sports Management.  Sean immediately enrolled and he adapted the concentration in Journalism.  From that point Sean was introduced to a fellow student that had almost the same similarities in life and that was Rob Long.  Rob became a mentor as well as a friend to Sean and encouraged him to intern with him during his show with WNST.

While studying at Coppin State, Sean excelled as the editor-in-chief of the school's newspaper, 'The New Courier.'   Upon graduating from the school, Sean became co-host of the Saturday Low Down Show with Rob Long and co-hosting the Ray & Sean Pre-Ravens Football Show with Ray Bachman.  In the meantime of co-hosting these shows, Sean still had time coaching little league soccer for Pikesville Recreation.

Nevertheless, Sean is currently back to producing the 6pm - 8pm show which is the new Sports Show with Michael Popovec.  During his time away from the station, Sean always finds a word or two say, when he writes his weekly Baltimore Ravens' column for Football.com and RavensInsider.com.

Keeping busy in the world of sports has never been an issue for Sean.  He has since founded the company, Luxor Publishing, LLC that will first specialize in sports photography.

To know Sean is to love Sean and remember his motto: "Understand The Need......And Accept The Challenge."
