It wasn't any fun having all of these old cassettes and mini-discs sitting in a box. They were fun the first time. Years later, this just shows how much fun we've had here at WNST since 1992!
Purple Reign: Diary of a Raven Maniac
This is Nestor's diary of the Ravens' existence from the moment Art Modell arrived in parking lot D of Camden Yards with the Cleveland Browns to the tanks arriving at City Hall with a Lombardi Trophy and a Super Bowl title in tow. This extensive book chronicles massive background on the franchise move, the drafting of every Raven including Ray Lewis and Jon Ogden, the extensive hiring prodcedures used by David Modell to hire Brian Billick and the miracle purple run during the fall of 2000 en route to an incredible win in Tampa. The parties, the "untold" stories, the background and details of how a champion was built by Ozzie Newsome and Phil Savage. Brian Billick penned the forward, calling this "the book I pick up to remember" the magical season. Larry King wrote in the USA Today that Purple Reign is a "great read."
Free The Birds' book on Baltimore, Dads and baseball
During the summer of 2006, WNST owner Nestor Aparicio marched into Camden Yards along with more than 2,000 other disgruntled fans. This is one man from Dundalk's story about a lifetime of love for the Orioles and baseball and Baltimore, one shared by thousands of other Baltimoreans and Marylanders who grew up worshiping Brooks and Eddie and Cal and Jim and Earl and Frank. This is Nestor's story, but it's everyone in Baltimore's story about baseball, family, friends and growing up on 33rd Street.
Baltimore Sports Franchise History
A complete look at the history of Baltimore sports franchises. Many links, features and cool "blasts from the past." See old logos, memorabilia, programs and remember the good times with the Clippers, Bullets, Colts and Skipjacks. We encourage Baltimoreans with memories and/or physical memorabilia to send along pictures, videos or "guest" columns about the past.

Old-school WNST Newsletters
From 1996 to 2000, Nestor Aparicio produced and mailed out a wacky Nasty Newsletter, which featured promotions, pictures in all sorts of Where's Waldo? places and lots of shots with athletes from all of the events he was on the road covering for WNST, and later, Sporting News Radio. You'll especially like the pictures and the zany production qualities. If you wondered why or how this site exists, this was the beginning of WNST.net as you now see it!
