Ravens’ Super Bowl odds slip after first week of free agency

Posted on 15 March 2013 by WNST Staff

“A week ago the Super Bowl champs were sitting comfortably at 14-1 to repeat which was in the top 5, now find themselves  at 20-1 and may even drift some more if they keep dumping players without acquiring any significant replacements for them. The Miami Dolphins, who can possibly compete in the AFC East, have been my biggest move dropping from 60-1 to 35-1 and in turn the Jets have jumped up to 60-1. The Seahawks getting Harvin has moved them slightly from 12-1 to 10-1, but am still holding the 49ers as co-Super Bowl favorites alongside the Broncos at 7-1.”

Ravens get 12/1 odds to repeat as Super Bowl champs

Posted on 04 February 2013 by WNST Staff

Courtesy of Bovada, (www.Bovada.lv,  Twitter: @BovadaLV).

“It is not a secret that we did not have an ideal result last night, the Ravens winning outright really cost us on the money line and futures and it made two years in a row the book did not have a winning Super Bowl.  One saving grace was the safety at the end of the game did not allow Baltimore to cover the alternate spread of them winning by 3.5 paying out at 5/2 odds, which was our heaviest bet prop, so at least that went in our favor.  The National Anthem as unpredictable as it was this year, our number was pretty dead on with it just going over the total of 2:15 while we were a bit low on the number of times they would say “Harbaugh” during the game, we had posted a total of 20.5 and I stopped counting once it hit 30, the power outage was no help on that one.”

Niners favorites but early Vegas money coming in on Ravens

Posted on 22 January 2013 by WNST Staff

Super Bowl XLVII Odds

Baltimore Ravens           +4

San Francisco 49ers       -4

“Looking back at this NFL season, it has been very strange for the book. We might have had our best start to an NFL season ever and then Week 9 was the worst NFL week for us that I have ever seen, so Baltimore winning twice as double digit underdogs against Manning and Brady does not surprise me.  However, Baltimore cost us on the weekend and are the only big loser for the book on our Super Bowl odds. Despite the bettors being enamored with Kaepernick over his last five starts, the Ravens covering all three playoff games easily has 60% of the bettors siding with Baltimore early on in the week.”

Kevin Bradley, Sports Book Manager, Bovada.lv

Early Vegas money going on Ravens plus 10

Posted on 16 January 2013 by WNST Staff

“I am not too shocked that the public is pounding the 49ers after their performance last week, or should I say Kaepernick’s, hence the early line move going from 3.5 point to 5 point favorites already and is not really making a difference as 75% of the money is still coming in on them.  Last week the bettors had no problem taking New England -10 over Houston, costing the book a pretty penny on Sunday, but this week is a little different as believe it or not 70% of the money is on Baltimore getting 10 points, and is one of those rare weeks as a bookmaker I get to root for the Patriots.”

Kevin Bradley, Sports Book Manager, Bovada.lv
