Special Teams Player of the Week: Sean Decloux, Soph., K, Maine
Decloux continued his solid sophomore season with another strong kicking effort as Maine locked up its first league title since 2002 with a 41-0 win over Rhode Island on Saturday. Offensive Player of the Week: Terrance West, Jr., RB, Towson
West earns his league-best 11th weekly honor on the heels of yet another historic performance in Towson’s 48-32 road win over Richmond. The senior highlighted the day with a sensational play in which he forced a fumble while sacking Spider quarterback Michael Strauss, recovered the fumble and proceeded to return it 32 yards for a touchdown in the fourth quarter. The forced fumble was one of his two in the win, which was Towson’s ninth straight on the road.

Co-Defensive Player of the Week: Stephon Robertson, Sr., LB, James Madison
Robertson was everywhere in what was a career day for the senior standout. The Buck Buchanan Watch Lister turned in a game-high 15 tackles, including a career-high 5.0 for loss and a sack, to go with a forced fumble and a pass breakup as he paced a Dukes defense that held William & Mary to just 250 yards of total offense on Saturday. Robertson has now recorded double-digit tackles in six of JMU’s eight games this season and is tied for seventh in the program annals with 399 for his career.

Special Teams Player of the Week: DeAndre Houston-Carson, Soph., CB, William & Mary
Houston-Carson cops his first conference honor after sparking one of the Tribe’s key plays in the team’s 17-7 Homecoming win over James Madison. The sophomore blocked Cameron Starke’s 31-yard field goal try in the third quarter, which would then lead to William & Mary’s go-ahead touchdown drive. Houston-Carson also secured six tackles, including three solo, and a pass breakup on the afternoon.

Rookie of the Week: Eric Enderson, R-Fr., P, Delaware
Enderson came up big in the Blue Hens’ kicking game as Delaware rolled to a 35-13 win over Rhode Island. The redshirt freshman sent three punts sailing an average of 55.5 yards, including a 69-yard punt that landed inside the Rams’ five-yard line. Enderson’s 69-yarder not only marked a career long, but also stands as the 10th-longest boot in school history.

DONNELL LEWIS NAMED AS CAA DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK

Lewis Led Tigers To 44-17 Win Over Albany

RICHMOND, Va. – Sophomore defensive back Donnell Lewis (Woodside H.S./Virginia Beach, Va.) of Towson University has  been named as the Colonial Athletic Association (CAA) Defensive Player of the Week for his performance in the Tigers’ 44-17 victory over Albany, it has been announced by CAA officials.

Lewis is the second Tiger to be named as the CAA Defensive Player of the Week this season. Two weeks ago, senior linebacker Telvion Clark (Granby H.S./Norfolk, Va.) was honored after the Tigers’ victory over New Hampshire.

In the Tigers’ victory over Albany, Lewis led the Tigers’ defensive effort. He made seven tackles, including two for lost yardage. He also broke up a pass and made one of the biggest plays of the game.

With 8:48 left in the second quarter, Lewis intercepted a pass at the Albany 38-yard line. He avoided a number of Great Danes and ran down the far sideline to score a touchdown. His touchdown gave the Tigers a 17-7 lead that they extended to 24-7 a few minutes later.

It was Lewis’ first interception of the season. However, it was his second touchdown of the season on a return. In the Tigers’ 35-21 victory at Stony Brook in September, Lewis recovered a fumble and returned it 43 yards for a touchdown that clinched the Tigers’ win.

A versatile defensive back who has seen action at safety and cornerback, Lewis has started five of eight games for the Tigers. He is tied for fourth on the team with 43 tackles and has broken up six passes. He is also tied for the team lead with two forced fumbles and has two fumble recoveries.

Lewis ranks fifth in the CAA in pass breakups and is tied for the CAA lead with two fumble recoveries.

The Tigers, who are 7-1 overall and 3-1 in the CAA, return to action on Saturday when they travel to Richmond to face the Spiders in a CAA game at 12 noon. The game will be televised on Comcast Sports Mid-Atlantic.

To date, Towson has had three CAA Offensive Player of the Week award winners and two CAA Defensive Player of the Week winners. The Tigers have also had one CAA Rookie of the Week and one CAA Special Teams Player of the Week.

West’s performance against New Hampshire enabled him to become the second-leading rusher in Towson history. He has now run for 3,226 yards in his career with 58 rushing touchdowns. He has scored 59 touchdowns in 27 career games.
