Navy quarterback Keenan Reynolds, Navy linebacker Cody Peterson and New Mexico State punter Cayle Chapman-Brown have been named FBS Independent Players of the Week, for games played through Saturday, Nov. 9. Reynolds is cited on Offense, Peterson is recognized on Defense, and Chapman-Brown is honored on Special Teams. Reynolds’ second award this season is the third of his career, while Peterson and Chapman-Brown are first-time honorees.

Navy QB Keenan Reynolds
A sophomore from Antioch, Tenn., Reynolds rushed 28 times for a career-high 226 yards and a career-best four touchdowns, while completing four of his eight passes for 59 yards and a score, in Navy’s 42-28 home-field victory over Hawai’i. Reynolds’ 226 rushing yards are the third most by a Navy quarterback, and the most by a Midshipmen signal-caller since 1997; his four rushing touchdowns are tied for the third-most in school history. With 18 rushing scores on the season, Reynolds ranks second nationally among FBS players, and third on Navy’s all-time single-season tally.

Navy LB Cody Peterson
A senior from Olympia, Wash., Peterson tied his career high with 14 tackles, including eight solo stops, in Navy’s 42-28 win over Hawai’i at Annapolis, Md. Peterson has recorded double-digit tackle totals in six consecutive games, and nine times in his Navy career. He currently ranks second nationally in FBS solo tackles per game, at 7.3 per contest.

New Mexico State P Cayle Chapman-Brown
A senior from Sydney, Australia, Chapman-Brown punted seven times for a 51.9-yard average, with a long kick of 58 yards, in New Mexico State’s 48-34 home loss to Boston College. Four of Chapman-Brown’s punts were downed inside the BC 20-yard line, with three of his kicks pinning the Eagles inside their 15-yard line.
