Come Rock Your Red with Barry Trotz in Bel Air!

Posted on 21 November 2014 by WNST Staff

Attention Washington Capitals fans: This is your chance to ROCK YOUR RED! We at WNST, in conjunction with Comcast SportsNet, are pleased to announce a live appearance with Capitals head coach Barry Trotz on Wednesday, December 10th at Buffalo Wild Wings in Bel Air. The puck drops at 730pm! We’ll reminisce with Coach Trotz about his old days leading the Baltimore Skipjacks, and we’ll talk about his transition back to Washington D.C. as head coach of the Caps. Does he feel that the Caps are close to contending for a Stanley Cup? We’ll cover all of that and much more in a night of great food, fun, and puck talk at Buffalo Wild Wings in Bel Air!

Coach Trotz will be signing autographs and taking pictures with fans, but there will be a limit of one per person (time permitting).

As has become a WNST tradition, the great folks from There Goes My Hero will be in the house swabbing anyone who has not yet been added to the bone marrow transplant database. If you are between the ages of 18-55 and have not yet “swabbed,” please visit There Goes My Hero and learn more about how you can save a life by swabbing a Q-Tip inside your mouth for 30 seconds. Seriously! We’ve swabbed over a thousand people and have raised tens of thousands of dollars since we began our #JennStrong initiative this past spring. It’s our mission here at WNST to save as many lives as humanly possible, and we thank Coach Trotz for helping us work towards that goal!

As always, a special thanks to our friends at Freedmont Mortgage for presenting all of our live events here at WNST. If you’re looking to buy or refinance a home, don’t make a 30 year mistake by choosing the wrong lender – visit Freedmont Mortgage now! Also thanks to Enoch Office and Rugenix for their continued support. Rob and the gang at Buffalo Wild Wings in Bel Air will take care of making sure your food is delicious as always – all YOU have to do is show up rocking your red! See you on December 10th, Caps fans!

Join Us Thursday Night with #89 Steve Smith!

Posted on 08 October 2014 by WNST Staff

We’ll be hanging out with Ravens standout WR Steve Smith Thursday night as we’re back with the good folks at Greenmount Station in Hampstead. Kickoff is at 7:30pm!

We’ll chat with Steve about his experience thus far after the first five weeks of the regular season here in Baltimore. How did it feel going against his former team? Is Steve happy with where the Ravens sit, currently at 3-2 heading into Tampa Bay?

Also, There Goes My Hero will be in the house as we continue our mission of swabbing as many people as possible and adding them to the bone marrow donor database. Thus far, we’ve raised over $20,000 and have swabbed over 1,100 people since April. We hope to crush those numbers this fall and beyond. If you haven’t been swabbed, it’s easy and painless. Click here for more info on the swabbing process and any restrictions. THANK YOU to everyone who has donated and/or swabbed for us and #JennStrong. We can’t thank you enough and we hope you’ll continue to spread the word.

As always, each and every one of our live shows are presented by Freedmont Mortgage. If you’re looking to buy or refinance a home, don’t make a 30 year mistake by choosing the wrong lender. Visit freedmont.com to learn more. Also big thanks to Enoch Office and Rugenix for their continued support!

UPDATE FROM WNST STAFF: Ravens rookie LB C.J. Mosley is expected to join WNST and host Steve Smith on Thursday night after his standout performance on Sunday. We hope to see you all in Carroll County!

Hope you’ll join us Tuesday night at Greenmount Station!

Posted on 14 April 2013 by Brian Billick

WNST.net returns to Carroll County this Tuesday night, April 16th, for a NFL Draft Preview show starring our very own Coach Brian Billick and presented by our friends at Freedmont Mortgage.

The first Super Bowl winning head coach of the Baltimore Ravens and a former Carroll County resident himself, Coach Billick has been studying the NFL Draft for the past few months as he prepares for his NFL Network broadcast duties on Draft weekend. Coach will be ready to answer your questions about Mant’i Teo, Tyrann “Honey Badger” Mathieu, Alec Ogletree, D.J. Fluker, Kevin Minter, Jesse Williams and any other players the Baltimore Ravens may be considering this year.

Coach was in the room when the Ravens selected the likes of Ed Reed, Todd Heap, Jamal Lewis, Terrell Suggs, Ben Grubbs, Haloti Ngata, Chris McAlister, Adalius Thomas, Jarret Johnson, Sam Koch, Marshal Yanda and more. His qualifications are impeccable. (We’re also aware he was in the room when the Ravens selected Kyle Boller, but after Joe Flacco lead the Ravens to another Super Bowl title we’re pretty sure it’s time to forgive that.)

Greenmount Station is located at 1631 N. Main Street in Hampstead and is the home of Carroll County’s best crab cakes. We were blown away by the support of WNST from the Purple Rowdies in Hampstead when we rolled out that way in the fall for our “Thursday Night Live” series with Dennis Pitta and we can’t wait to be back out there. Kickoff time for the taping of the show is 7pm Tuesday night and the show will air later in the week on AM1570 WNST.net. Get there early and grab a great spot, enjoy some great food and have a cold beer, it’s going to be a fun evening.

Coach is always willing to take pictures and sign autographs for fans in attendance, as well as answer that question that’s been bugging you for 10 years. If you want to ask something along the lines of “Coach, did you ever lose the Vince Lombardi Trophy after winning Super Bowl XXXV like the Ravens did after winning Super Bowl XLVII?” he’ll give you an honest answer. (Which we’re pretty sure is “no”, but admittedly not certain.)

It’s our NFL Draft Preview Show with Coach Brian Billick presented by Freedmont Mortgage, taping Tuesday night at 7pm at Greenmount Station in Hampstead. We can’t wait to see you out there.
