The Ravens were without two key defensive starters Wednesday as they continued preparations for their Week 5 meeting with the Indianapolis Colts.
Linebacker Terrell Suggs (groin) and defensive end Chris Canty (illness) were listed as non-participants in addition to left tackle Eugene Monroe (knee surgery) and rookie defensive tackle Timmy Jernigan (meniscus). Monroe is expected to miss his second straight game as he recovers from last week’s arthroscopic surgery.
After being limited to just one practice last week, Suggs played in last Sunday’s win against Carolina but re-aggravated a groin injury and left late in the fourth quarter with the Ravens holding a 38-10 lead. The veteran linebacker downplayed the severity, but it wasn’t surprising to see him sitting out on Wednesday as a result.
Canty was active and started against the Panthers despite missing practice all last week with a knee injury.
Meanwhile, Indianapolis was without former Ravens defensive lineman Arthur Jones, who continues to recover from a high ankle sprain that’s kept him sidelined for the last two games. Veterans D’Qwell Jackson and Reggie Wayne both were given the day off on Wednesday.
Here is Wednesday’s injury report:
