Senior Jerrelle Benimon, the current Colonial Athletic Association Player of the Week, has scored in double figures in three straight games. The forward has averaged 21.3 points and shot 46.3 percent from the field during the three-game stretch.
Senior Mike Burwell is shooting 4-for-6 (66.7 percent) from beyond the arc over the last three games. He’s also grabbed seven or more rebounds in three of the first four games this season. Freshman John Davis was a bright spot for the Tigers at Villanova, tallying a season-high nine points on 4-for-5 shooting to go along with eight rebounds.
Kansas (3-0), which averages 86.7 points per game, is coming off an 86-66 home win over Iona on Tuesday. The Jayhawks are led by sophomore Perry Ellis, who averages 19.0 points per game and has scored 20 or more in each of the last two games.
Kansas is the second winningest program in NCAA Division I history with 2,104 wins and the Jayhawks have won 65 straight games against non-conference foes in Allen Fieldhouse.
