Maryland’s final ACC basketball opponents revealed

Posted on 23 April 2013 by WNST Staff

Most ACC teams released their home and away opponents for the 2013-2014 basketball season Tuesday, allowing the University of Maryland’s opponents to be determined fairly easily.

Notably, Maryland will not host long-time conference rivals Duke or North Carolina (or North Carolina State)in their final conference season. They will play all three teams on the road only. The Terrapins do however get the benefit of playing all three incoming ACC teams (Pitt, Syracuse, Notre Dame) at Comcast Center in their final season before departing for the Big Ten. Their four home and home series are with Pitt, Florida State, Virginia and Virginia Tech.

Here is the list of the Terps’ ACC opponents for the season:

HOME
Florida State, Georgia Tech, Miami, Notre Dame, Pitt, Syracuse, Virginia, Virginia Tech, Wake Forest

ROAD
Boston College, Clemson, Duke, Florida State, North Carolina, NC State, Pitt, Virginia, Virginia Tech

The other things we know about Maryland’s 2013-2014 schedule are that they open the season November 8 against UConn in Brooklyn; they face Marist in the Thanksgiving week “Paradise Jam” event (which also features Morgan State, La Salle, Providence, Vanderbilt, Northern Iowa and Loyola Marymount); they face George Washington at the Verizon Center in the BB&T Classic and they will host Oregon State (per the Washington Post).

Te’o Lied, Sports Journalism Failed

Posted on 23 January 2013 by Brett Dickinson

So the story is the craziest, EVER, in sports history.  Manti Te’o met a girl online, spoke with her on the phone every night, while she first recovered from a car accident, and then struggled with Leukemia.  Te’o’s grandmother passes, only to hear hours later that Lennay Kekua, his “girlfriend,” lost in her fight to cancer as well, on the same day.  Te’o went on to have the one of the greatest season of all-time at Linebacker, came in second for the Heisman Trophy and led Notre Dame to a National Championship appearance.  Great story, not 100% true; which leads to an even greater story.

Let’s all be honest, nobody was hurt from this story, no one broke the law, no one died (well in real life at least).  Yet sports journalists attached themselves to this story, condemned a 22 year old kid and questioned everything from his future, his integrity to his sexuality.  No one would believe that this story could possibly be real, that Te’o was that naïve, that he did not do this for publicity.

Well, as more evidence has been revealed, we now know that Te’o did not have involvement in the hoax and was actually the victim in “someone’s sick joke (his own words).”  Roniah Tuiasosopo admitted to creating the scam, apologizing to basically everyone he directly involved.  Jeremy Schaap, probably the world’s greatest sports investigative journalist, sat down with Te’o and was convinced by his side of the story.  And now Te’o has not only shown physical evidence to Schaap (text messages, Facebook messages, and tweets) but has given up his phone records to prove the thousands of hours he spent on the phone with “Kekua.”

This is not an unprecedented event; if the Catfish documentary (and now MTV show) has taught the world anything, it’s not to trust anyone on the internet.  This same situation occurs every day to mass amounts a people in all walks of life.  So when sports journalists basically called Te’o a dumbass, they insulted thousands of people who live with the same stress and embarrassment.

Now for those who are angry that Te’o lied and exaggerated the truth about a relationship with a female.  Well, then you must have been cut off from society for I don’t know, FOREVER, because everyone has stretched the truth at some point of their life in regards to the opposite sex. He continued the lie because he did not know how to handle disappointing an entire fan base of not just Notre Dame, but football in general.  At 22, no one can say they were mature enough to deal with that kind of scrutiny.

And while you are busy questioning Te’o’s integrity and trust, real life scumbags play each and every week, in every sport.  There are thousands of stories the public let slide, by all athletes and celebrities, but the lies Te’o continued is where the line is crossed.  This NFL season, players on several respected organizations, which many question whether he could be trusted to play beside, have been found as criminals on a regular basis, yet garner less attention combined, than Te’o, the past couple weeks.

Terrell Suggs drug his girlfriend down the street by her hair, in his car, in front of their children (this was after he dumped bleach on her in 2009); that story was not trending on Twitter.  Jay Ratliff and Michael Turner both received DWI’s (that’s the more serious offense for being wasted while driving), when the NFL supplies a driving service for all its members, including players (a story we here about every year).  Or when was the last time you heard the name Josh Brent; the Cowboys Defensive Lineman charged with manslaughter after driving drunk and killing his own teammate.  How many Facebook posts were made about that? Dez Bryant was charged with assault after slapping/hitting his own mother, yet was praised for maturing in his third season.  Michael Crabtree was just charged last Thursday for sexual assault; haven’t heard anything about the story since the 49ers made the Super Bowl.

Yet Te’o is the one that does not belong on an NFL roster.  He lied about what he knew and when he knew it; by far the greatest crime in humanity.  It is an absolute, if you asked any of those criminals about their situations; they may throw a couple of lies in their story too.

So in the end, I blame sports journalism for their lack of integrity in what has transpired with this entire story.  They blew up the story in the first place (Peter Thamel of Sports Illustrated), without probably checking sources; Te’o didn’t go running to the presses with his personal life.  And when Deadspin.com properly reported the twists in this tale, sports journalists were the first to again judge, without knowing the facts. It is time to not only get the priorities straight in this business, but start becoming accountable for the work not only in print but in social media as well.  Grow up sports journalism, grow up.

The Manti Te’o Saga: Or the most bizarre story ever

The Manti Te’o Saga: Or the most bizarre story ever

Posted on 18 January 2013 by John Sears

Please click the links embedded in the text for info and sources of this story.

Twitter: @RealJohnSears

Manti Te’o had one of the greatest seasons of any middle linebacker in college football history.  He led the best defense in the country to the BCS National Championship game with many memorable wins along the way.  It’s safe to say, however, that anyone who would interview him now wouldn’t be interested in talking about his stellar season.

When Deadspin.com reported on Wednesday that Manti Te’o’s girlfriend (who had supposedly died earlier this season) had not died and in fact never existed, the sports world exploded.  Even folks on Twitter, where the statute of limitations for any story is maybe a few hours, are still buzzing about it some 48 hours later.

It has been, by far, the most bizarre story I have ever followed.

In the coming days and weeks ahead we will find more information regarding this ordeal.  We already know a ton.  But in a way we really don’t know much.  That should really give you a sense of the magnitude and far reaching impact of it.

In the initial report by Deadspin.com, it was clear that Manti Te’o was being portrayed as a complicit partner in the hoax, ran by Ronaiah Tuiasosopo who was a known acquaintance (at the very least) of Manti.  The article quoted a source as saying, that they were “80 percent sure” Manti Te’o was “in on it”.  The source also went on to say they made it up in order for Manti to benefit from the publicity.

After that article was published, Notre Dame quickly released a statement in response to it saying that they had known about the “hoax” since December 26th.  In a press conference later that evening, Notre Dame athletic director, Jack Swarbick maintained that Te’o had maintained and exclusively online relationship with the fake Lennay Kekua, had been duped throughout the entire process, and did not become aware of the hoax until he received a phone call on December 6th from what was believed to be Kekua’s number with a familiar voice on the other end.  When asked about specific matters of the situation, Swarbick repeatedly said he would let Manti answer those questions “soon”.

If Notre Dame’s history tells you anything, it’s that you shouldn’t take their word as gospel.  They have a history of embellishments and cover ups; whether it’s a coach faking that his son has cancer so his team will win or covering up rapes involving football players or covering up a fake girlfriend so it doesn’t distract their team or start player from playing in the National Championship.  Yeah, that worked out well…

At this point, one thing is for certain: Manti Te’o is a liar.  To what extent and for what purpose, we still do not know.

We know Manti Te’o lied about ever meeting her.  The South Bend Tribune: “Their stares got pleasantly tangled, then Manti Te’o extended his hand to the stranger with a warm smile and soulful eyes.”  This was in regards to their first meeting after the Stanford/Notre Dame game in November of 2009. It was confirmed by Te’o.

We know Brian Te’o, Manti’s father, lied about the two hanging out in Hawaii from 2010-2011.  He was quoted as saying, “Every once in a while, she would travel to Hawaii, and that happened to be the time Manti was home, so he would meet with her there.”

We don’t know, however, if Manti Te’o was involved in the hoax from the beginning, whether he knew part of the way through, or whether he never knew at all.

According to ESPN, Manti Te’o and Kekua began to talk nightly in early 2012 until Kekua was in a serious car crash in April of 2012.  Doctors then discovered that the fake girl had cancer and treated her.  She then starts to get better throughout the summer and is eventually released from the hospital on September 10th, 2012 according the South Bend Tribune.

This is where the story starts to get weird (as if it wasn’t already).  On September 10-11th Manti Te’o’s real grandmother dies after a long illness.  What is weird is that his girlfriend dies within this same timespan even after she was released from the hospital after her condition improved.  Multiple media outlets reported that she had died on five different dates.

I think it’s kind of a coincidence that the hoaxers knew that Manti’s grandmother had died and conveniently killed off Kekua right after…or before…what was it? Or could it have been that Manti decided with Ronaiah to kill off Kekua in the midst of his grandmother’s passing in order to magnify the situation?

Te’o then goes out the same week and has a great game against Michigan State in both their honors.

There is no doubt that this whole saga raises hundreds of questions.

Why lie about meeting her multiple times?  Why did he never visit her, in the summer while there was no school and he was presumably free, while she had been in the hospital after a “serious” car accident and while she was fighting leukemia?  Finally, why did he never visit her grave or her family after she had died?  If she was truly “love of his life” as he said, these are surely things he should’ve felt compelled to do.

Earlier today Shelley Smith of ESPN reported a story in which she quotes two people who claim that Ronaiah Tuiasosopo pulled a similar hoax on their cousin a few years ago.  “I found out his (Manti Te’o) girlfriend’s name was Lennay Kekua. And right when I read the name Lennay Kekua, I immediately thought of Ronaiah. Then I thought of my cousin — that this has to be the same person” said one of them.  Smith then quoted anonymous source who said she was friends with Ronaiah, “He (Ronaiah) told me that Manti was not involved at all, he was a victim. … The girlfriend was a lie, the accident was a lie, the leukemia was a lie”.

However, why should we believe ESPN, who couldn’t (with all their might) get the story out before Deadspin?  Why should we believe a secondhand confession through an anonymous source from a compulsive liar?  The only person who could have performed this elaborate hoax, which Ronaiah has “confessed” doing, would have to be a compulsive liar.  I’m sorry, but I’m going to need more than that to believe Manti or Notre Dame on this one.

We know Manti was friends with Ronaiah and we know Ronaiah was probably behind the fake girl.  But why would he attempt to fool his friend?  Jack Swarbick believed it was to humiliate Manti.  But wouldn’t the best way to humiliate him be to use the Twitter account that was created for Kekua as a way to publicize it?  Calling him on the phone hardly seems like humiliation since only Manti would know about it.

In the past two days teammates have been quoted as saying that they had suspicions about Te’o’s mystery girlfriend.  One in particular said “He lied, but the media blew it up” and that Te’o was a “very good” actor.  Then there is this video where you can see Te’o’s teammates snickering Brian Kelly brings up Manti’s struggles and as Manti speaks about his fake dead girlfriend.

Alema Te’o, Manti’s uncle, spoke with 1280 The Zone in Chicago yesterday saying, “Ronaiah Tuiasosopo is a liar, he concocted the whole thing, he misrepresented whatever program that he was trying to get across to Manti, and shoot, he lied every step of the way. I don’t feel it’s beyond him to hire somebody or bring somebody in to play the role of Lennay to get Manti to buy into this deal.” He then went on to describe a situation where he walked in on Manti talking to Ronaiah.  About what, he did not know.

Gene Wojciechowski of ESPN interviewed Te’o about losing the two women back in October.  He said in researching for preparation that he found no obituary or record of a car accident for Lennay Kekua.  “We asked Manti, could we contact Lennay’s family and he said the family would prefer not to be contacted. Could we have some photos of Lennay? He said the family would prefer not to provide those” said Wojciechowski.

Kind of suspicious, don’t you think?  Considering Lennay’s family didn’t exist.

Even further evidence shows part of an interview where Manti says that his girlfriend wrote him letters before every game.  He said the last one she wrote was before the Stanford game this season.  Problem is, she was reported dead 31 days prior to that game.

Here we come to the part where Te’o continued to speak about his fake dead girlfriend even after he found out that she was in fact not dead, according to Notre Dame.  His quotes can be seen here.  Why did he continually bring her up even though he knew about the hoax?  He could have easily dodged any of those questions by simply talking about how he was thankful for his teammates and coaches.  He didn’t have to refer to her directly, but he did.  This makes him a liar.  Whether out of embarrassment or whether he was perpetuating the lie on purpose;  he is a liar.

Just under three days after the news broke, Te’o finally broke his silence on the matter.  In an off camera interview with his lawyer present, Te’o denied being involved in the hoax at any point and maintained his innocence throughout.  He did however admit to lying to his father and the media about the extent of his relationship with the fake girl.  He also said that Ronaiah Tuiasosopo confessed to him via Twitter that he was the one behind it along with two more unnamed people.  However as Deadspin points out, “Schaap said he saw the messages, but we’re still not sure how such an apology would have worked. Tuiasosopo deleted his Twitter account weeks ago, and direct messages on Twitter require the recipient to follow the sender. We checked the list of Twitter users Te’o follows on Tuesday and didn’t see any sign of Ronaiah.”

But why finally do an interview late on a Friday night, off camera, and with your lawyer present if you have nothing to hide?  His story still does not even mesh with that of Notre Dame’s.  He says he wasn’t convinced that Kekua wasn’t real until two days ago.  It’s strange though that on December 26th, he notified Notre Dame of his suspicions.  Notre Dame then shared the findings of their investigation with the Te’o on January 5th.  But somehow he wasn’t convinced till two days ago?  I’m not going to buy that.

We may never know the whole truth about this scandal.  Manti Te’o probably will never own up to concocting this plan; whether because he didn’t, or because he doesn’t want people to know he did.  His family, agents, and Notre Dame will probably attempt to “leak” things out to make him seem innocent.

But one thing is for certain.  I will never trust what Notre Dame or Te’o have to say again.  Their history dictates probable cause.

Navy announces 2013 football schedule

Navy Announces 2013 Football Schedule

ANNAPOLIS, Md.—The Navy football team, coming off an 8-5 campaign that saw the Mids win the Commander-In-Chief’s Trophy for the eighth time in the last 10 years and appear in a bowl game for the ninth time in the last 10 years, will face a challenging 2013 schedule that includes seven bowl teams from 2012 including a Notre Dame team that played for the BCS National Championship.

The Mids have an attractive five game home schedule in Annapolis that includes games against Service Academy rival Air Force, Pittsburgh, in its first year in the ACC, on Homecoming and Football Championship Subdivision power and local rival Delaware.  The annual Army-Navy Game Presented by USAA, which is the greatest rivalry in all of sports, will be played on Dec. 14 in Philadelphia.

“This will once again be an incredibly challenging schedule for our football team,” said Navy head football coach Ken Niumatalolo.  “With seven teams on our schedule that went to bowl games a year ago and with four teams from BCS conferences on the schedule, our young men will have to work extremely hard this offseason to accomplish all of our goals next year.  I think we have a great home schedule and I hope our fans and the Brigade will be excited about the quality games we are playing at Navy-Marine Corps Memorial Stadium, as we will need that home field advantage.”

Navy kicks off the 2013 campaign on Sept. 7 when the Mids travel to Bloomington, Ind. to take on the Indiana Hoosiers of the Big 10.  It will be the latest Navy has started a season since 1998 when the Mids opened at Wake Forest on Sept. 10. Meanwhile, it will mark Navy’s first trip to Bloomington since 1986.   Last year, Navy rallied for a thrilling 31-30 victory over Indiana in Annapolis.

The Mids return to Annapolis the following Saturday (Sept. 14) to take on Delaware in the home opener.  This will be the sixth meeting between the two squads since 2003 with Navy holding a slim 3-2 advantage over the Blue Hens.

After an off week, Navy travels to Bowling Green, Ky. to take on the Western Kentucky Hilltoppers and first-year head coach Bobby Petrino.  Western Kentucky was 7-6 last year including a loss to Central Michigan in the Little Caesars Pizza Bowl.  Western Kentucky will be the first of six-straight opponents that participated in a bowl game a year ago.

Air Force comes to Annapolis (Oct. 5) the following week as Navy will look to defend its title as the top Service Academy football team in the first game of the round-robin competition between Navy, Air Force and Army for the Commander-In-Chief’s Trophy.  Navy defeated Air Force last year, 28-21, in overtime.   The last 10 games between these two rivals have been decided by an average of 5.2 points per game with the last two games going to overtime.  Air Force finished last year 6-7 after losing to Rice, 33-14, in the Armed Forces Bowl.

The Mids will hit the road the next two weeks playing at Duke on Oct. 12 and at Toledo on Oct. 19.  Duke is coming off its most wins (six) since 1994 and played Cincinnati in the Belk Bowl, while Toledo finished 9-4 in 2012 and played in the Famous Idaho Potato Bowl where it lost to Utah State.

The Mids return home to face a Pittsburgh squad on Homecoming (Oct. 26) that is coming off a six-win season and an appearance in the BBVA Compass Bowl against Ole Miss.  Pitt will be in its first season as a member of the ACC.

The Mids travel to South Bend, Ind. the following week (Nov. 2) to take on the Notre Dame Fighting Irish.  Notre Dame is coming off a season that saw it go undefeated in the regular season and play Alabama in the BCS National Championship Game.

Navy head coach Ken Niumatalolo’s alma mater, Hawai’i, will come to town on Nov. 9 to take on the Midshipmen, while South Alabama will travel to Annapolis the following week (Nov. 16) to play Navy for the first time.

The Mids will travel to San Jose State on Nov. 23. The Spartans are coming off an 11-2 season and a victory over Bowling Green in the Military Bowl Presented by Northrop Grumman, 29-20.  San Jose State has beaten Navy in each of the last two seasons.

The Mids will cap off the 2013 season on Dec. 14 against Army at Philadelphia’s Lincoln Financial Field.  The Mids won last year’s game in thrilling fashion, rallying for a 17-13 victory.  It was Navy’s 11th-straight victory over the Black Knights, which is a series record.

CBS has the rights to all of Navy’s home football games and either CBS or CBS Sports Network will televise all five home contests. Navy’s game at Notre Dame will be televised by NBC, while CBS is home for the Army-Navy Game.  Game times and television information for the rest of the road schedule will be announced at a later date.

With six wins in 2013, the Mids will appear in the Bell Helicopter Armed Forces Bowl in Ft. Worth, Texas.  A date has not been set for the bowl game.

Navy, Notre Dame to meet at FedEx Field in 2014

Navy And Notre Dame To Meet At FedExField In 2014

ANNAPOLIS, Md.—The 2014 Navy-Notre Dame game will be played on Nov. 1 at FedExField in Landover, Md. it was announced today by Redskins Chief Marketing Officer Mitch Gershman and Naval Academy Director of Athletics Chet Gladchuk.

This will be the first meeting between the two schools at FedExField since 1998.  Navy last played at FedExField on Dec. 10, 2011 when the Mids defeated Army, 27-21.

“FedExField did a fine job of hosting the Army-Navy game and we are looking forward to another sold out event in 2014,” said Naval Academy Director of Athletics Chet Gladchuk.

“The Navy and Notre Dame game highlights two outstanding collegiate programs,” said Gershman. “We are excited to welcome both teams back to FedExField and are looking forward to hosting one of the most competitive and nationally acclaimed matchups in the country.”

Gladchuk and Notre Dame Director of Athletics and Vice President Jack Swarbrick announced last fall that Navy’s football series with Notre Dame, which is the longest continuous intersectional rivalry in college football, had been extended to 2026, which will be the centennial year for the series.

The Irish and Mids meet in South Bend on odd years; while on even years the contest is Navy’s home game, customarily played at regional NFL venues.  The two schools, which have played every year since 1926, met for the 86th on Sept. 1 at Aviva Stadium in Dublin, Ireland.  Next year’s game will take place on Nov. 2 in South Bend.

The 15-7-0 is made up of 60% water, 40% leftover turkey and cranberry relish

Posted on 26 November 2012 by Glenn Clark

As always, this week’s 15-7-0 is brought to you by Roofing By Elite. Visit them at roofingbyelite.com. We make 15 observations about football that are ELITE, 7 that are “not so ELITE” and one “zero” who deserves to sleep on the roof from outside of football.

(As a reminder, we don’t do Baltimore Ravens game analysis here. We do PLENTY of that elsewhere. This is about the rest of the world of football.)

Here we go.

“The Elite 15″…

1. I have to assume that at this point they don’t need to keep trying to wake up the echoes in South Bend.

Remember when the Trojans were down two scores late and went for it on 4th down anyway? I bet that worked out well…

I can’t tell if Fighting Irish LB (and likely Heisman Trophy finalist) Manti Te’o was excited about the win, though…

Also, what do you think Lane Kiffin was thinking here…

Of course, the Trojans are NEVER losers…

2. Now that Jay Cutler has returned to save the Chicago Bears’ season, we can all get back to talking about how much Jay Cutler sucks.

He’s unlikeable, but he’s a hell of a QB…

Back to that “unlikeable” thing. Ask AJ Jefferson…

J’Marcus Webb might disagree though…

3. Jesus. Weren’t the Bengals just completely dead a couple weeks ago?

Mohamed Sanu had a busy day (on my fantasy football bench)…

Credit to NFL Red Zone’s Scott Hanson-who saw Raiders DL Tommy Kelly in a fight and IMMEDIATELY noticed he was a doppelganger for Suge Knight…

4. There might be a LITTLE bit of drama headed to New York this year, but I’m pretty confident Johnny Manziel has locked up the Heisman Trophy.

His big game Saturday against Missouri happened AFTER Johnny Football overcame this troublesome looking injury…

Manziel will finally speak to the media for the first time Monday. He’ll have to play catch up to the all out blitz the Irish have gone through with Te’o…

5. Now Alabama plays Georgia next week for the right to be favored to win the BCS Championship Game.

Georgia’s Alec Ogletree prepared for the SEC Championship showdown by going all Kurt Angle on Georgia Tech…

Elsewhere in the SEC, I give you Jarvis Landry!

I’ve been playing an ATL song on the show recently. Might not be my thing, but if you name a song “For Baltimore” you can be sure I’ll be in on it.

I saw Citizen Cope again this summer, I remembered I freaking LOVE seeing Citizen Cope…

Of Monsters And Men won’t make a ton of critics’ choice lists this year, but they should…

I watched O.A.R.’s Red Rocks show live on AXS TV back in the summer. It was tremendous. Of course it was.

9. D.L. Hughley (Friday 8:30pm Warner Theatre), Jay Mohr (Saturday 8 & 10:30pm Magooby’s Joke House), Donnell Rawlings (Friday-Sunday DC Improv); Life of Pi“, “Red Dawn“, “Rise of the Guardians (Wednesday) and “Hitchcock” out in theaters (Friday); “The Expendables 2″ available on Blu-Ray/DVD (Tuesday); Festival of Trees (Friday-Sunday Timonium Fairgrounds)

If you can’t remember how you know Jay Mohr, the answer is from his AWESOME annual stop to see WNST at the Super Bowl…

(As a reminder, we don’t do Baltimore Ravens game analysis here. We do PLENTY of that elsewhere. This is about the rest of the world of football.)

Here we go.

“The Elite 15″…

1. Johnny Manziel is going to win the Heisman Trophy. If only someone had been able to warn you that was going to happe….oh wait!

But that doesn’t explain why Texas A&M coach Kevin Sumlin let Johnny Football try an extra point. NOTHING will ever explain that…

Elsewhere in the SEC, Les Miles did this…

2. Quick. Name two receivers in the NFL right now that are DEFINITELY better than AJ Green.

I almost refuse to believe this was real…

Also, good luck stopping Jermaine Gresham…

Here’s Matt Cassel hilariously rushing downfield to spike the ball despite the fact the clock wasn’t moving…

Also…this is tragic…and hilarious?

3. Of course, one of those that MIGHT still be better than Green is Andre Johnson.

Exhibit A…

The Ravens REALLY liked Jags receiver Cecil Shorts III in the draft. I’m understanding why more and more…

Also, Danieal Manning is NOT going to want to see this again…

And Paul Posluszny’s bloody face is excellent…

4. While your team is busy worrying about their conference, Notre Dame is busy playing for a national championship.

Hate the Irish but love Manti Te’o? You’re just like the rest of the country, Steve. This moment in South Bend Saturday was pretty flipping awesome…

No Matt Barkley for USC in Notre Dame’s season finale. They’ll see you in Miami.

5. I’m happy Navy won Saturday and all, but I’m INFURIATED a visit from Texas State didn’t include Kathy Ireland.

Which would have been SO much better…

Unfortunately I didn’t see the Navy motivational video from this week posted anywhere. But I did see AWESOME new helmets…

On Election Day eve, no one is “undecided” about the 15-7-0

Here we go.

“The ELITE 15″…

1. There’s college football…and then there’s Alabama.

I guess things didn’t work out for this guy…

The team may have lost, but this was AWESOME…

Also feeling stupid? LSU QB Zach Metten-Rae-Jepsen…

Let’s check in on a man who is the second best coach in his own division…

Wanna see Kirk Herbstreit play with Lee Corso’s trunk? Of course you do…

Next up for Alabama? Johnny Football…

Elsewhere in the SEC, this.

2. How did I spend my Sunday night? Oh, just watching this postgame video of Chuck Pagano and crying.

Oh man.

Also, these types of throws are making people wil’ out about Andrew Luck. I get it. A quick reminder that Andrew Luck plays indoors. That’s all.

In defeat, Reggie Bush tallied a TD on a play that reminded of a guy who used to play for USC a few years back…

3. The Pittsburgh Steelers just refuse to make things easy on the Ravens…again.

And say whatever you want…this was an incomplete pass.

Also, this shouldn’t have been a flag on Ryan Clark either. I’m not trying to apologize for the Steelers (in fact, I was glad both calls went against them). Had they lost, they would have lost and I would have said they deserved to lose. That’s the way it works in the NFL.

Also-are you a Ravens fan considering voting for Mitt Romney and Paul Ryan? This is the man you’d be voting for…

4. Despite what the computers might say, I think we all know Oregon is the 2nd best team in the country.

We’ll get to Collin Klein in a second, but Kenjon Barner PROBABLY moved to second on the Heisman Trophy list (ahead of Manti Te’o) in the Ducks’ win at USC…

The Trojans lost their third game of the season, but it’s hard to blame their quarterback. Unless you’re former USC RB Marc Tyler…

Elsewhere in the Pac-12, UCLA blew out Arizona a week after Arizona ran over USC. But UCLA’s win came with their assistants looking like this…

5. And I think we all know Kansas State is the 3rd best team in the country.

They looked really good against Oklahoma State Saturday night…

Also, here’s this.

Elsewhere in the Big 12, did this final 2 point conversion in West Virginia-TCU actually happen?

(Since I don’t like WVU…I don’t care if it did or didn’t. I’m just glad they said it did.)
