Towson F Benimon to participate in Adidas Nations Basketball Experience

BENIMON TO PARTICIPATE IN ADIDAS NATIONS BASKETBALL EXPERIENCE
Event Held in Orange County, Calif. from August 1-5

ORANGE COUNTY, Calif. – Towson senior forward Jerrelle Benimon, a 2012 Honorable Mention AP All-American, has been selected to participate in the 2013 adidas Nations Basketball Experience, held in Orange County, Calif. from August 1-5 at Next Level Sports.

Benimon will be among 30 collegians participating as counselors at the event, which pits several of the nation’s top high school prospects against teams from Australia, Africa, Asia, Europe and Latin America. In addition to his duties as counselor, Benimon and the other college players will compete against each other in scrimmages.

Benimon and the other counselors will provide on-court coaching and training, as well as off-court instruction on nutrition, leadership, discipline, philanthropy and global interactions.

Sixteen players selected in the 2013 NBA Draft had been a part of the adidas Nations experience.

adidas Nations is the premiere global high school basketball platform for player development and competition. Commencing in 2007, adidas Nations identifies the top young basketball players in the world and is designed to emphasize and focus on adidas’ core belief that real success in the game of basketball comes from refined fundamentals and playing as a team. The world’s top 19-and-under players will be selected to comprise nine regional teams from Africa, Asia Pacific, Australia, Europe, Latin America and the United States.

Teams will participate in training camps and competition around the world with the primary focus of becoming a professional basketball player. The culmination of this program brings all nine teams together to train and ultimately compete in an International world championship under the guidance of highly esteemed NBA coaches, past and present players, and receive mentoring from the top 30 college basketball players in America.
