During the 2013 season, Drew Forrester and Luke Jones of The D&L Window Tinting Morning Reaction will provide the “10-Game Scorecard” for the Orioles, rating the club in 10-game increments in a number of categories and looking ahead to how Baltimore will fare over the next ten games on the schedule.

Drew: Worse
Luke: Better

2. Most Valuable Player/Least Valuable Player
Drew: MVP – Wei-Yin Chen; LVP – Matt Wieters
Luke: MVP – Adam Jones; LVP – Francisco Rodriguez

3. Biggest surprise
Drew: Losing two of three games to Seattle
Luke: Going 3-3 against Houston and Seattle to conclude a disappointing 4-5 homestand

4. Best thing about the 10-game stretch
Drew: Closer Jim Johnson steadying himself
Luke: Acquiring right-handed starter Bud Norris without giving up a top prospect

Drew: The Orioles will be eight games behind first place in the AL East
Luke: The Orioles will have acquired a right-handed bat to try to help the struggling offense

Drew: MVP – Manny Machado; LVP – Matt Wieters
Luke: MVP – Chris Davis; LVP – Jason Hammel

Drew: Pulling off the trade with the Chicago Cubs for Scott Feldman
Luke: Kevin Gausman continuing to be used in a relief role

Drew: Chris Davis continuing his first-half tear

During the 2013 season, Drew Forrester and Luke Jones of The D&L Window Tinting Morning Reaction will provide the “10-Game Scorecard” for the Orioles, rating the club in 10-game increments in a number of categories and looking ahead to how Baltimore will fare over the next dozen games on the schedule.

(Editor’s note: The segment will now be based on 10-game increments instead of the previous 12-game scorecards due to scheduling difficulties centered around scheduled vacations. The specifics of the segment remain the same, however.)

Drew: Better
Luke: Better

2. Most Valuable Player/Least Valuable Player
Drew: MVP – Chris Davis; LVP – Pedro Strop (*Forrester didn’t like ganging up on Strop and wanted to pick Chris Dickerson instead)
Luke: MVP – Miguel Gonzalez and Chris Tillman; LVP – Pedro Strop

3. Biggest surprise
Drew: The continued contributions of Danny Valencia
Luke: Not sending Pedro Strop on a rehab assignment prior to his activation from the 15-day disabled list

Drew: Winning three of four games from first-place Boston
Luke: Completing a 5-2 homestand with good starting pitching against two of the better-hitting teams in the American League

Drew: The Orioles will be in first place.
Luke: Fans will begin to have false hope for Brian Roberts’ upcoming rehab assignment.

Drew: 7-3
Luke: 6-4

Morning Reaction Orioles 10-Game Scorecard (Games 86-95)

After a hiatus covering vacation time and the All-Star break, the Orioles “10-Game Scorecard” returns for the second half of the season.

As was the case in the first half, Drew Forrester and Luke Jones rate the club in 10-game increments in a number of categories and begin looking ahead to how Baltimore will fare over the next 10 games on the schedule.

1. Should the Orioles have been better or worse than their 6-4 mark?
Drew: Better
Luke: Worse

2. Most Valuable Player/Least Valuable Player
Drew: MVP – Nick Markakis; LVP – Jim Johnson
Luke: MVP – Nick Markakis; LVP – Luis Ayala

3. Biggest surprise
Drew: The Orioles bouncing back after the embarrassing 19-7 loss in Minnesota
Luke: The excellent run through the starting rotation over the last five games

4. Best thing about the 10-game stretch
Drew: Nick Markakis stabilizing the leadoff spot
Luke: Nick Markakis showing no lingering effects of wrist surgery

5. Ten games from now…
Drew: The Orioles will still be in the thick of the playoff race.
Luke: The club will not have added any impact starting pitchers at the deadline.
