The 15-7-0 is made up of 60% water, 40% leftover turkey and cranberry relish

Posted on 26 November 2012 by Glenn Clark

As always, this week’s 15-7-0 is brought to you by Roofing By Elite. Visit them at roofingbyelite.com. We make 15 observations about football that are ELITE, 7 that are “not so ELITE” and one “zero” who deserves to sleep on the roof from outside of football.

(As a reminder, we don’t do Baltimore Ravens game analysis here. We do PLENTY of that elsewhere. This is about the rest of the world of football.)

Here we go.

“The Elite 15″…

1. I have to assume that at this point they don’t need to keep trying to wake up the echoes in South Bend.

Remember when the Trojans were down two scores late and went for it on 4th down anyway? I bet that worked out well…

I can’t tell if Fighting Irish LB (and likely Heisman Trophy finalist) Manti Te’o was excited about the win, though…

Also, what do you think Lane Kiffin was thinking here…

Of course, the Trojans are NEVER losers…

2. Now that Jay Cutler has returned to save the Chicago Bears’ season, we can all get back to talking about how much Jay Cutler sucks.

He’s unlikeable, but he’s a hell of a QB…

Back to that “unlikeable” thing. Ask AJ Jefferson…

J’Marcus Webb might disagree though…

3. Jesus. Weren’t the Bengals just completely dead a couple weeks ago?

Mohamed Sanu had a busy day (on my fantasy football bench)…

Credit to NFL Red Zone’s Scott Hanson-who saw Raiders DL Tommy Kelly in a fight and IMMEDIATELY noticed he was a doppelganger for Suge Knight…

4. There might be a LITTLE bit of drama headed to New York this year, but I’m pretty confident Johnny Manziel has locked up the Heisman Trophy.

His big game Saturday against Missouri happened AFTER Johnny Football overcame this troublesome looking injury…

Manziel will finally speak to the media for the first time Monday. He’ll have to play catch up to the all out blitz the Irish have gone through with Te’o…

5. Now Alabama plays Georgia next week for the right to be favored to win the BCS Championship Game.

Georgia’s Alec Ogletree prepared for the SEC Championship showdown by going all Kurt Angle on Georgia Tech…

Elsewhere in the SEC, I give you Jarvis Landry!

10. Bob Dylan feat. Mark Knopfler (Tuesday 7:30pm Verizon Center); All Time Low (Friday 7pm Rams Head Live Saturday 6pm Recher Theatre); Charm City Devils (Friday 6:30pm Recher Theatre); Laughing Colors (Wednesday 8pm Baltimore Soundstage); Citizen Cope (Wednesday 7pm Friday 8pm 9:30 Club), Of Monsters And Men (Sunday 7pm 9:30 Club); Duncan Sheik (Sunday 7:30pm Birchmere); Ballyhoo (Wednesday 9pm Greene Turtle Aberdeen); B.B. King (Saturday & Sunday 8pm Howard Theatre); R. Kelly (Saturday 8pm D.A.R. Constitution Hall); Led Zeppelin “Celebration Day”, Phillip Phillips “The World From The Side Of The Moon”, Coldplay “Live 2012″, O.A.R. “Live on Red Rocks” and AC/DC “Live at River Plate” available in stores/on iTunes (Tuesday)

I’ve been playing an ATL song on the show recently. Might not be my thing, but if you name a song “For Baltimore” you can be sure I’ll be in on it.

I saw Citizen Cope again this summer, I remembered I freaking LOVE seeing Citizen Cope…

Of Monsters And Men won’t make a ton of critics’ choice lists this year, but they should…

I watched O.A.R.’s Red Rocks show live on AXS TV back in the summer. It was tremendous. Of course it was.

9. D.L. Hughley (Friday 8:30pm Warner Theatre), Jay Mohr (Saturday 8 & 10:30pm Magooby’s Joke House), Donnell Rawlings (Friday-Sunday DC Improv); Life of Pi“, “Red Dawn“, “Rise of the Guardians (Wednesday) and “Hitchcock” out in theaters (Friday); “The Expendables 2″ available on Blu-Ray/DVD (Tuesday); Festival of Trees (Friday-Sunday Timonium Fairgrounds)

If you can’t remember how you know Jay Mohr, the answer is from his AWESOME annual stop to see WNST at the Super Bowl…

Cole, Franklin score big but Coppin falls at USC

Posted on 10 November 2012 by WNST Staff

LOS ANGELES — Freshman Patrick Cole scored a game-high 25 points and senior Troy Franklin added 23 points, but Coppin State dropped its season opener to USC 87-73 in the EA SPORTS Maui Invitational on Friday in the Galen Center.

Cole finished the game 7-of-13 from the floor and 8-of-11 from the free throw line to lead all scorers, while Franklin was 5-of-10 from the field and 11-of-14 from the line to finish with 23 points in his Coppin State debut.

Cole and Franklin combined to score 48 of Coppin State’s 73 points and were a combined 12-of-23 shooting. The rest of the Eagle team scored 25 points on 8-of-34 shooting.

Byron Wesley and J.T. Terrell each had 17 points to lead the Trojans, while Omar Oraby chipped in 16 points off the bench.

USC, which was also playing its season opener, out-rebounded the Eagles 44-27 and outscored Coppin State 19-2 on second-chance points.

Coppin State will continue play in the EA SPORTS Maui Invitational against Texas on Monday (Nov. 12) in Austin, Texas.

I have to wait until Saturday to see GCJ (in Philly) because I’ll be in Brooklyn Friday night. It’s troubling because I’m not fully certain I can wait ANOTHER DAY.

On Election Day eve, no one is “undecided” about the 15-7-0

Posted on 05 November 2012 by Glenn Clark

As always, this week’s 15-7-0 is brought to you by Roofing By Elite. Visit them at roofingbyelite.com. We make 15 observations about football that are ELITE, 7 that are “not so ELITE” and one “zero” who deserves to sleep on the roof from outside of football.

(As a reminder, we don’t do Baltimore Ravens game analysis here. We do PLENTY of that elsewhere. This is about the rest of the world of football.)

Here we go.

“The ELITE 15″…

1. There’s college football…and then there’s Alabama.

I guess things didn’t work out for this guy…

The team may have lost, but this was AWESOME…

Also feeling stupid? LSU QB Zach Metten-Rae-Jepsen…

Let’s check in on a man who is the second best coach in his own division…

Wanna see Kirk Herbstreit play with Lee Corso’s trunk? Of course you do…

Next up for Alabama? Johnny Football…

Elsewhere in the SEC, this.

2. How did I spend my Sunday night? Oh, just watching this postgame video of Chuck Pagano and crying.

Oh man.

Also, these types of throws are making people wil’ out about Andrew Luck. I get it. A quick reminder that Andrew Luck plays indoors. That’s all.

In defeat, Reggie Bush tallied a TD on a play that reminded of a guy who used to play for USC a few years back…

3. The Pittsburgh Steelers just refuse to make things easy on the Ravens…again.

And say whatever you want…this was an incomplete pass.

Also, this shouldn’t have been a flag on Ryan Clark either. I’m not trying to apologize for the Steelers (in fact, I was glad both calls went against them). Had they lost, they would have lost and I would have said they deserved to lose. That’s the way it works in the NFL.

Also-are you a Ravens fan considering voting for Mitt Romney and Paul Ryan? This is the man you’d be voting for…

4. Despite what the computers might say, I think we all know Oregon is the 2nd best team in the country.

We’ll get to Collin Klein in a second, but Kenjon Barner PROBABLY moved to second on the Heisman Trophy list (ahead of Manti Te’o) in the Ducks’ win at USC…

The Trojans lost their third game of the season, but it’s hard to blame their quarterback. Unless you’re former USC RB Marc Tyler…

Elsewhere in the Pac-12, UCLA blew out Arizona a week after Arizona ran over USC. But UCLA’s win came with their assistants looking like this…

5. And I think we all know Kansas State is the 3rd best team in the country.

They looked really good against Oklahoma State Saturday night…

Also, here’s this.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UfmFwIGUEb8

Elsewhere in the Big 12, did this final 2 point conversion in West Virginia-TCU actually happen?

(Since I don’t like WVU…I don’t care if it did or didn’t. I’m just glad they said it did.)

Top 10 Baseball Distractions

Honorable Mention: Exhibition Women’s College Basketball-Catholic @ Maryland (Tuesday 7pm Comcast Center), Goldey-Beacom @ Maryland (Monday 7pm Comcast Center); Golf: WGC HSBC Champions (Thursday & Friday 9am Saturday & Sunday 8am live on Golf Channel), Champions Tour Charles Schwab Cup Championship (Thursday-Saturday 4:30pm Sunday 3:30pm from Scottsdale, AZ live on Golf Channel); High School Football: Hereford @ Perry Hall (Friday 7pm), MIAA A Conference Quarterfinals: McDonogh @ Loyola (Saturday 2:30pm), Mount St. Joseph @ Archbishop Spalding (Saturday 6pm); Tennis: ATP BNP Paribas Masters (Tuesday-Thursday 6am Friday 9am & 2:30pm Saturday 9:30am Sunday 9am from Paris live on Tennis Channel); Mixed Martial Arts: Bellator Fighting Championships 79 (Friday 8pm from Roma, Ontario, Canada live on MTV2)

10. Justin Bieber (Monday 7pm Verizon Center); Smashing Pumpkins (Saturday 8pm Patriot Center); The XX (Tuesday 8pm Rams Head Live), Eric Hutchinson (Sunday 7:30pm Rams Head Live); The Ravyns (Saturday 8pm Recher Theatre); MxPx/Unwritten Law (Thursday 6:30pm Ottobar), Further Seems Forever feat. Chris Carrabba (Saturday 7:30pm Ottobar); Aesop Rock (Wednesday 8pm Baltimore Soundstage); Edwin McCain (Thursday 8pm Rams Head Center Stage); Grouplove (Tuesday 7pm 9:30 Club), Dr. Dog (Thursday 7pm Friday 8pm 9:30 Club), Soullive (Saturday 8pm 9:30 Club); Umphrey’s McGee (Wednesday 7:30pm Fillmore Silver Spring), Gov’t Mule (Saturday 8pm Fillmore Silver Spring); Fozzy (Thursday 6pm Empire); Melissa Etheridge (Friday 8pm Strathmore); Roger Clyne (Friday 9pm IOTA Club); Donavon Frankenreiter (Saturday 6pm U Street Music Hall); JD McPherson (Thursday 8pm State Theatre); Stephen Kellogg & The Sixers (Saturday 8:30pm Howard Theatre); Tim Reynolds & TR3 (Saturday 8:30pm The Hamilton); Chris Isaak (Sunday 8pm Warner Theater); Nas & Ms. Lauryn Hill (Sunday 8pm D.A.R. Constitution Hall); Brandi Carlile (Thursday 8pm Modell Performing Arts Center at The Lyric); Flyleaf “New Horizons” and Trans-Siberian Orchestra “Dreams of Fireflies (On A Christmas Night)” available in stores/on iTunes (Tuesday)

Go see the Ravyns because Rob Fahey is the freaking greatest.

I had no idea Unwritten Law was still a thing. I’m so freaking in.

JD McPherson has a throwback sound that pleases me greatly.

I think there’s a significant chance Lauryn Hill is crazy. I don’t care. She’s so freaking ridiculously talented. I still can’t believe what a jerk her mom was to her in Sister Act 2 though.

9. Whoopi Goldberg (Saturday 8pm Modell Performing Arts Center at The Lyric); Shaq’s All-Star Comedy Jam feat. Gary Owen (Saturday 8pm D.A.R. Constitution Hall); Tony Rock (Thursday-Sunday DC Improv); Dom Irrera (Thursday-Saturday Magooby’s Joke House); “The Campaign” available on Blu-Ray/DVD (Tuesday); Flight“, “Wreck-It Ralph” and “The Man With The Iron Fists” out in theaters (Friday)

This isn’t the most impressive list I’ve ever seen if I’m telling you the truth.

Umm…I’m KINDA excited for Wreck-It Ralph. I’d probably go see “Flight” if someone asked nice enough.

Otherwise…here’s a guy with a horse head mask running through Hurricane Sandy on a local DC news cast…

And here’s a picture Kate Upton Tweeted recently…

Yep, we upgraded there.

The 15-7-0 is awkwardly obsessed with Faith Hill’s legs

Posted on 17 September 2012 by Glenn Clark

As always, this week’s 15-7-0 is brought to you by Roofing By Elite. Visit them at roofingbyelite.com. We make 15 observations about football ELITE, 7 about football “not so ELITE” and one “zero” who deserves to sleep on the roof from outside of football.

(As a reminder, we don’t do Baltimore Ravens game analysis here. We do PLENTY of that elsewhere. This is about the rest of the world of football.)

The “ELITE” 15…

1. Towson football continues to be a hell of a way to spend a Saturday afternoon.

Let’s recap. Beautiful afternoon…great crowd…competitive game…key win over a conference rival…national TV. Yeah, all of that sounds good to me…

Here was the video shown at Unitas Stadium before the game. It honestly makes me want to go hit somebody…

But if Rob Ambrose REALLY wants to get his team fired up, perhaps he should go the lip-dub route fellow CAA coach (and former Baltimore Colt) Bill Curry went…

Righteous.

2. As of this moment, the Houston Texans are the best team in the AFC.

And also, the Jacksonville Jaguars are not particularly good…

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=txnPXpJ7_m8

The offensive numbers in this one for the Jags are absolutely staggering, by the way. Blaine Gabbert finished 7/19 for 53 yards (53 yards!), the Jags finished with 117 total yards of offense and did not convert a single third (or fourth) down attempt all game.

“Jaguars football: still inexplicably happening!”

3. As of this moment, the San Francisco 49ers are the best team in the NFC.

This was a big win for the 49ers, so they decided to turn to Alex Smith, Michael Crabtree and….ummm….Aziz Ansari? after the game…

Also, I’m sure a lot of Niners fans told Smith they wanted him to be more like Tom Brady, but I don’t think they expected this…

Also…apparently Owen Wilson is now a 49ers fan or something(?) and also decided that he wanted to do everything in his power to look like Eric Byrnes these days…

At least he wasn’t reading “Don’t Jump.”

Oh, and Jim Harbaugh and Jim Schwartz got along just fine in the postgame, but that’s presumably because Schwartz wanted to see if Harbaugh could help him get the tail from out between his legs.

4. Manti Te’o went through a lot this week. Even if you don’t like Notre Dame like me, it’s hard to not be happy for him.

Both the girlfriend and grandmother of the Fighting Irish LB passed away during the week leading up to the game at Michigan State, making his effort all more emotional…

I can’t help but notice that ND’s big win came just days after “Rudy” Ruettiger threw out the first pitch before the Orioles won their 14 inning marathon against the Tampa Bay Rays…Oriole Magic rubs off?

Next up for the Irish is Michigan. Here’s Denard Robinson doing something quite cool against UMass Saturday…

And hey, at least Spartans LB Max Bullough still has his awesome tattoo…

5. So, Stanford pretty much just owns USC at this point.

Yup. So much for Matt Barkley’s “unfinished business” I guess.

Also, an excellent amount of Stanford trolling in this one. First, USC’s drum major was breathalyzed on the way in to Stanford Stadium…

Then came their own band leader…

Not bad.

6. Speaking of Stanford, there were a few moments where Andrew Luck looked like that other guy against the Vikings.

I mean, he ISN’T that guy (you know the guy we’re talking about…the guy who plays in Denver now) yet, but this wasn’t bad…

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jG5mwY-Fmgc

Hey, the Vikings did have ONE effective offensive play…

Whatever works, I guess. Congratulations to Chuck Pagano on his first win as a NFL head coach. May there never be one against the Ravens.

Oh, and I thought it was nice that the teams decided to give everyone a nice preview of Sunday night’s WWE Night of Champions Pay-Per-View…

Who says replacement officials can’t keep control of games? I mean, how were they supposed to see that after Donald Brown spit that green potion in their eyes?

I guess fans in “The Friendly Heart of the Midwest” are excited?

7. Eli Manning threw for a Tim Tebow season’s worth of yards against the Bucs.

510 yards? 510 yards? I mean, what the hell? Was he playing the University of Colorado?

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jenI-bUCeWY

It looks like everything is fine, at least according to Tom Coughlin in his postgame handshake session with Greg Schiano…

U mad bro?
