Led by Machel Millwood and Neto, the Blast improved to 8-0 Friday night with a 10-6 win over the visiting Wichita Wings.

The Wings jumped out to a 2-0 lead on an Alex Moseley goal early in the first quarter.

After missing the last two games with a groin injury, Blast forward Lucio Gonzaga returned to the playing field tonight and scored his fifth goal of the season to tie the score at 2-2 before the Wings regained the lead at 4-2 on a goal from Miguel Ferrer.

Just 33 seconds into the second half Max Ferdinand tied the game at 4-4.  Tony Donatelli scored with eight seconds left in the third quarter to give the Blast their first lead of the game at 6-4 and Millwood gave Baltimore an 8-4 lead in the first minute of the last quarter.  Freddy Moojen cut the Blast lead to 8-6 with a power-play goal late in the game but Neto seal the victory with a power-play goal with less than 30 seconds to go.

The Blast has kicked off their 33rd season of professional indoor soccer in Baltimore with eight straight wins and is looking to match the 1993-94 Baltimore Spirit squad’s record of 10 straight wins to open the season.

There’s no Place Like Home

The Blast, 9-3 at home last season, started 2012-13 with four home games in the span of just 13 days.  The team has boasted winning records at home each of the last six seasons and has had winning home records in 18 of the last 20 seasons.  After five straight home wins to start the season, the Blast is on a 14-game regular-season home win streak.
