5. NHL Entry Draft (Friday-Saturday from Minneapolis live on VERSUS & NHL Network); NHL Awards Show (Wednesday 8pm from Las Vegas live on VERSUS)

Someone work on the punchline for the fact that Alexander Ovechkin has won plenty of trophies at the NHL Awards Show but has never held a trophy after the Stanley Cup Finals.

I’d write the punchline myself, but I dropped out of my improv comedy writing class. There’s probably a great joke there about how I also dropped out of college, but again-it’s hard for me to come up with considering I never finished comedy class.

So instead of finishing those jokes I’ll just post my favorite* picture of Vegas celebrity Holly Madison.

(*We all know this isn’t my favorite picture of Holly Madison. It’s my favorite picture of Holly Madison that I can post on a fairly family friendly website. I’m sure you understand.)

4. NBA Draft (Thursday 7pm from Newark, NJ live on ESPN/

A year ago Maryland Terrapins fans were interested in the NBA Draft because they wanted to see Greivis Vasquez end up in the first round (he of course did-being selected 28th overall by the Memphis Grizzlies).

This year I sorta get the feeling that Terps fans would almost rather see Jordan Williams slide out of the first round-almost as if to say “see, you should have come back to College Park.”

I’ll buck the trend and pull for Jordan to go higher in the Draft. Let’s not forget what he once did to Jon Scheyer…

3. Soccer: CONCACAF Gold Cup Semifinals-Team USA vs. Panama (Wednesday 7pm from Houston live on Fox Soccer Channel); Honduras vs. Mexico (Wednesday 10pm from Houston live on Fox Soccer Channel); Gold Cup Final (Saturday 9pm from Pasadena, CA live on Fox Soccer Channel); MLS-Houston Dynamo @ DC United (Saturday 6pm from RFK Stadium live on Comcast SportsNet & Galavision)

About time we get payback on those Panamanian jerks for what they did to us literally days ago!

I simply hope that none of our boys picked up the characteristics of former national team member Charlie Davies, even if similar play helped Italy win the World Cup in 2006…

Colin Firth’s performance in “The King’s Speech” wasn’t even that good.

2. Tennis: ATP Tour & WTA Tour Wimbledon (Tuesday-Saturday & Monday 7am live on ESPN2/, Saturday & Monday 10am live on NBC. All tennis from Wimbledon, ENG)

I’ve posted a million pictures of Caroline Wozniacki and Maria Sharapova here. It’s time to do something different.

Here’s a picture of Daniela Hantuchova. She’s worth rooting for…

1. U2/Florence & The Machine (Wednesday 7:30pm M&T Bank Stadium); Sade/John Legend (Wednesday 7:30pm Verizon Center); Aretha Franklin (Tuesday 8pm Wolf Trap), Peter Frampton (Thursday 7:30pm Wolf Trap), Creedence Clearwater Revisited (Friday 8pm Wolf Trap), Earth, Wind & Fire (Sunday 8pm Wolf Trap); Robin Trower (Thursday 7pm Rams Head Live); The Bridge (Wednesday 8pm 8×10 Club); Bootsy Collins (Thursday 8pm Rams Head On Stage), Los Lonely Boys (Saturday 5pm & 9pm Rams Head On Stage); Michael Franti and Spearhead (Tuesday 7pm 9:30 Club); OK Go (Thursday 6pm Millennium Stage Kennedy Center); Ozomatli (Saturday 8pm Kennedy Center); Citizen Cope (Saturday 8pm Warner Theatre)

See you Wednesday night.

Flexing my mic muscles since 1983…
