Top 10 Baseball Distractions

4. Tennis: WTA Tour Citi Open (Tuesday-Sunday Tennis Center at College Park Saturday 2pm Sunday 1pm live on Tennis Channel); ATP Tour Farmers Classic (Friday 3pm live on Tennis Channel 7pm live on ESPN2 Saturday 5pm live on Tennis Channel 10:30pm live on ESPN2 Sunday 5pm live on ESPN2. All tennis from Los Angeles)

Wait a second.

Tennis? In College Park?

They have a Chick-Fil-A in College Park!

You mean to tell me I could attend pro tennis in College Park while eating Chick-Fil-A?

Holy hell-please tell me this event doesn’t have a rule that requires pants for spectators because there’s little chance I’ll bother.

3. Soccer: Manchester United vs. FC Barcelona (Saturday 7pm FedEx Field); MLS All-Star Game: MLS All-Stars vs. Manchester United (Wednesday 8:30pm from Harrison, NJ live on ESPN2); MLS: DC United @ San Jose Earthquakes (Saturday 10:30pm from San Jose live on Comcast SportsNet)

All of the guys who play for these European teams have hot girlfriends, right? That’s the story on them?

I’d go look it up, but that involves me doing work. We all know how I feel about that.

Instead, I’ll post this picture of Brandi Glanville that I found over at Guyism and channel Tommy Boy in saying “I wonder if she dates one of the Manchester Uniteds”?

2. Mixed Martial Arts: Strikeforce-Fedor Emelianenko vs. Dan Henderson (Saturday 10pm from Chicago live on Showtime)

Showtime might as well go ahead and give this the subtitle of…

“What we thought would save Strikeforce”.

This event would have been a REALLY big deal three years ago.

Instead, Fedor can no longer beat anyone and Hendo’s best win in over four years is Rich Franklin.

Since the event is in Chicago, I have an idea as to how Strikeforce (really UFC now) can still make this legitimately exciting.

C.M. Punk.

1. NFL (???)

Heh. Isn’t that the truth.

We should know shortly all of the details on free agency, Training Camp, etc.

In the meantime…still question marks.

This should be a really exciting week. Maybe not as exciting as “Shark Week”, but pretty exciting nonetheless.

Thank God for that, or we might have been forced to pretend to care about this for another week…
