Top 10 Baseball Distractions

4. Mixed Martial Arts: UFC Fight Night Live-Jake Shields vs. Jake Ellenberger (Saturday 9pm from New Orleans live on SpikeTV); Bellator Fighting Championships 50 (Saturday 7pm from Hollywood, FL live on MTV2)

I have so much to share here. First-I saw “Warrior” over the weekend. It was EASILY the best movie I’ve seen all year. If you haven’t seen it yet, shame on you.

If you have, tell me you don’t get chills when you hear this Mark Isham tune…

I’d go see it again tomorrow. So would my girlfriend. It’s THAT good.

Also, Daniel Cormier was randomly placed in the Strikeforce Heavyweight Grand Prix (halfway through) and now has the chance to win the thing. The whole thing has been a disaster for the company-which is fine since they’re now owned by UFC and can afford the disaster on Showtime’s dime.

And finally, if you’re squeemish…look away…

I mean it. Look away.

I’m not kidding. I can barely look at this.

This is a cut MMA fighter Joey Diehl suffered that somehow ended up on Busted Coverage.

I’m giving you one more chance.

Holy hell.

3. Boxing: Floyd Mayweather Jr. vs. Victor Ortiz (Saturday 9pm from Las Vegas live on HBO PPV)

Boxing still happens? Who knew???

So…here’s a really awkward clip of Mayweather and rapper 50 Cent from the show “24/7 Mayweather Ortiz” on HBO talking into stacks of cash that they’re pretending are phones. Courtesy of “The Soup”, this clip is…and how is this possible?…real?

2. NFL: Baltimore Ravens @ Tennessee Titans (Sunday 1pm from Nashville live on CBS)

Before we move on to a showdown in Music City, it is important that we remember where we came from.

Specifically the moment when Hines Ward most recently met Jarret Johnson…

Or perhaps the moment when Haloti Ngata most recently introduced himself to Rashard Mendenhall…

But if we’re talking Ravens-Titans, I guess we’ll need to think back about ten years and send (another) thank you to one Ray Lewis…

1. College Football: West Virginia @ Maryland (Saturday 12pm from Byrd Stadium live on ESPNU); Navy @ South Carolina (Saturday 6pm from Columbia, SC live on ESPN2); Robert Morris @ Morgan State (Saturday 1pm Hughes Stadium); King’s (PA) @ Stevenson (Saturday 1pm Mustang Stadium); Oklahoma @ Florida State (Saturday 8pm from Tallahassee live on ABC)

Admit it. When you saw WVU was losing 12-10 to Norfolk State Saturday you thought to yourself “HAHAHAHA…the Terps are going to roll these losers.”

Not so much. That being said, I HAVE been practicing my “go back, go back, go back into the woods” chants all week.

I’ll be looking forward to seeing the Mountaineers supporters in College Park…

Flexing my mic muscles since 1983…
