8. College Lacrosse: Johns Hopkins Alumni Game (Saturday 8pm Homewood Field)
Is it REALLY Fall Ball time again? That must mean it’s time for all of my other favorite fall things.
Chili in a pumpkin bowl…
Grilled cheese and tomato soup…
And of course, my favorite Fall tradition…Oriole Park at Camden Yards sitting empty…
Yep. It’s “a tradition unlike any other.”
7. WNBA Finals: Atlanta Dream vs. Minnesota Lynx (Game 2 Wednesday 8pm from Minneapolis live on ESPN2, Game 3 Friday 8pm from Atlanta live on ESPN2, Game 4 if necessary Sunday 4pm from Atlanta live on ESPN2); Video Games: NBA 2K12 available for XBox360/PlayStation3 (Tuesday)
I feel as though I should be rooting for the Dream, as Charm City’s own Angel McCoughtry plays for them. But to do that I’d have to admit that I know a player in the WNBA, and that’s a struggle for me.
I have no idea how a new NBA video game is coming out. They ARE aware the league is in a lockout, correct?
Elsewhere Chris Paul hosted some sort of All-Star game somewhere. This isn’t basketball, but the 0:40 mark looks like it was awesome…
6. Auto Racing: NASCAR Chase For The Sprint Cup Hollywood Casino 400 (Sunday 2pm from Kansas City, KA live on ESPN)
I hope Elliott Sadler wins the thing this year personally.
Speaking of things I know nothing about, I found a video of a couch traveling over 100 MPH on the Yahoo! Sports NASCAR blog “From the Marbles.” What the hell does it have to do with NASCAR? Admit it, no one on the planet cares.
5. Soccer: U.S. Open Cup Final: Chicago Fire @ Seattle Sounders (Tuesday 10pm from Seattle live on Fox Soccer Channel); Honduras @ Team USA (Saturday 6pm from Miami live on Fox Soccer Channel/Univision); College Soccer: Rutgers @ Maryland (Tuesday 7:30pm Ludwig Field); Bucknell @ UMBC (Tuesday 7pm Retriever Soccer Park)
I have no idea if Sacha Kljestan is playing for the Red, White & Blue in Miami Saturday night or not-but I DO know he’s significant because his involvement allows me to post this picture of his girlfriend Jamie Lee Darley…
