4. Running: Baltimore Running Festival (Saturday 8am Downtown Baltimore)

True story. I was sitting in an American eating establishment in Bel Air last week (I won’t say their name because they aren’t a sponsor but we can call them “Schmafflefees”) and there was a couple literally SCREAMING at each other because the girl had been prepping to run for months while the dude-who was in “Glenn Clark” shape-had decided to enter in the race just a day or two before and was “stealing her spotlight.”

It was surreal.

By the way, I’m not much of a runner myself but I appreciated Bruce Cunningham explaining to me how the sport worked…

3. College Football: Homecoming-Clemson @ Maryland (Saturday 7pm from Byrd Stadium live on ESPNU); Navy @ Rutgers (Saturday 2pm from New Brunswick, NJ live on; Towson @ Old Dominion (Saturday 3:30pm from Norfolk, VA live on AM1570; Dickinson @ Johns Hopkins (Friday 7pm Homewood Field); Widener @ Stevenson (Saturday 1pm Mustang Stadium); Oklahoma State @ Texas (Saturday 3:30pm from Austin live on ABC/ESPN)

Ugh. I hate Clemson, and Saturday doesn’t look good for the Terps. Tajh Boyd has been brilliant for the Tigers early on and Maryland had been decimated by injuries.

The Terrapins HAVE won three of the last four in the series however. The 2008 win was one of my favorites. Thanks for a nice run Chris Turner…

2. College Basketball: Maryland Madness (Friday 9:30pm Comcast Center); UMBC Midnight Madness (Friday 9pm RAC Arena)

The big news surrounding Mark Turgeon’s first “Madness” is the fact that Juan Dixon, Steve Blake and Chris Wilcox will all be participating in the Alumni Game.

So here are these…

It will be SO weird to see someone else on the sideline.

1. NFL: Houston Texans @ Baltimore Ravens (Sunday 4:05pm from M&T Bank Stadium live on CBS)

It is OF COURSE much better news for the Ravens that Andre Johnson and Mario Williams won’t be available Sunday.

Someone should ask Matt Schaub about his favorite Ravens memories before the game…

Flexing my mic muscles since 1983…
