 4. Auto Racing: NASCAR Chase for the Sprint Cup Ford 400 (Sunday 3pm from Homestead, FL live on ESPN)

Carl Edwards bring just a three point lead into the final Car Race 500 of the season, so the excitement is palpable.

Nah, I’m just kidding. No one gives a crap. But it IS happening.

While he’s no Andy Roddick (and while Andy Roddick plays an ACTUAL sport), I’m man enough to admit Carl Edwards is a very good looking man…

What does that have to do with anything? Absolutely nothing. It just gave me an excuse to mention Andy Roddick.

3. College Basketball: 5-Hour Energy Puerto Rico Tip-Off-Maryland vs. Alabama (Thursday 5pm from San Juan, Puerto Rico live on ESPN2), Maryland vs. Colorado/Wichita State (Friday TBA from San Juan, Puerto Rico live on TBA), Maryland vs. TBA (Sunday TBA from San Juan, Puerto Rico live on TBA); EA Sports Maui Invitational: Towson vs. Belmont (Saturday 2:30pm from Murfeesboro, TN live on, Towson vs. UNC Greensboro/Middle Tennessee State (Sunday TBA from Murfeesboro, TN live on AM1570; Loyola @ UMBC (Thursday 7pm from RAC Arena live on MASN), UMBC @ VMI (Saturday 1pm from Lexington, VA live on

Congratulations to Mark Turgeon for winning his first game as Terps head coach Sunday night against UNC Wilmington.

But as a guy in the stands at the Carrier Classic pointed out, there’s a long way to go…

(The sign says “It will always be Garyland.”)

2. College Football: Maryland @ Wake Forest (Saturday 3pm from Winston-Salem, NC live on Comcast SportsNet); Navy @ San Jose State (Saturday 4pm from San Jose live on; Towson @ Rhode Island (Saturday 12:30pm from Kingston, RI live on AM1570; Hampton @ Morgan State (Saturday 1pm Hughes Stadium); Division III NCAA Tournament: St. John Fisher @ Johns Hopkins (Saturday 12pm Homewood Field); USC @ Oregon (Saturday 8pm from Eugene, OR live on ABC)

I would imagine there aren’t many Terrapins fans taking the trip down south to see the team face the Demon Deacons. But if for SOME REASON you are, I have a suggestion.

Go here…

Enjoy this.

High five someone.

That is all.

1. NFL: Cincinnati Bengals @ Baltimore Ravens (Sunday 1pm from M&T Bank Stadium live on CBS)

There’s a nice little rivalry between the Ravens and Cincy over the years, as players like Ray Lewis, Ed Reed, Terrell Suggs, Ray Rice and Joe Flacco have had the chance to get to know guys like Carson Palmer, Chad Johnson, TJ Houshmandzadeh, Jonathan Joseph and Leon Hall.

What’s that you say? None of those guys are playing for the Bengals? Well. That’s quite interesting.

My problem here is that with Chad Johnson gone, I’m not sure who I make fun of anymore.

Aw hell…

Flexing my mic muscles since 1983…
