Top 10 Baseball Distractions

8. Auto Racing: NASCAR Kobalt Tools 400 (Sunday 2:30pm from Las Vegas live on FOX)

Credit to Tide for turning the Daytona 500 into a commercial quickly…

They’ll have a race in Vegas Sunday. Thank God. That town has needed an event or something.

7. Women’s College Basketball: America East Championship Game-UMBC @ Albany (Saturday 8pm from Albany live on ESPN3.com); Patriot League Championship Game-Holy Cross @ Navy (Saturday 6pm from Alumni Hall live on CBS Sports Network); CAA Tournament: Towson vs. Old Dominion (Thursday 12pm Showplace Arena); NCAA Tournament Selection Monday (Monday 7pm ESPN)

The good news is that Brenda Frese’s Terrapins are already in. The even better news would be if Phil Stern’s Retrievers could join.

If getting to the Big Dance was actually about dancing they’d already be in. (I need new writers!)

6. NBA: Los Angeles Lakers @ Washington Wizards (Wednesday 7pm from Verizon Center live on Comcast SportsNet), Portland Trailblazers @ Washington Wizards (Saturday 7pm from Verizon Center live on Comcast SportsNet), Washington Wizards @ San Antonio Spurs (Monday 8:30pm from San Antonio live on Comcast SportsNet)

If you want to go to DC this week, you can see Kobe Bryant’s face mask! I’m pretty sure it could dunk on Javale McGee.

OR you can watch this Funny Or Die video where a Kia Optima dunks on Blake Griffin…

5. Golf: World Golf Championships Cadillac Championship (Thursday & Friday 1pm live on Golf Channel Saturday 2pm Sunday 3pm live on NBC. All golf from Doral, FL), PGA Tour Puerto Rico Open (Thursday-Saturday 6:30pm Sunday 7:30pm from Rio Grande, Puerto Rico on Golf Channel)

Tiger Woods and Rory McIlroy nearly made golf interesting Sunday. Unfortunately, this picture of a golfer in the desert getting caught up in a cactus I found over at Yahoo! Sports is still significantly more interesting…

But…you know…golf is neat and all.
