Top 10 Baseball Distractions

8. Golf-PGA Tour Shell Houston Open (Thursday & Friday 3pm live on Golf Channel, Saturday & Sunday 3pm live on NBC. All golf from Humble, TX), LPGA Tour Kraft Nabisco Championship (Thursday & Friday 12pm & 6:30pm Saturday & Sunday 4:30pm from Rancho Mirage, CA live on Golf Channel); Video Games: EA Sports Tiger Woods PGA Tour 13 available on PS3/XBox360 (Tuesday)

Holy crap! Did you hear who won last week’s golf tournament???

I’m as excited about Yani Tseng as the next guy, but hasn’t all of the conversation Monday seemed like a bit much?

What else is going on in the world of golf, by the way?

7. Tennis: ATP Tour/WTA Tour Sony Ericsson Open (Tuesday 11am live on Tennis Channel, Wednesday & Thursday 1pm & 7pm Thursday 3pm & 7pm live on ESPN2, Saturday 12:30pm Sunday 1pm live on CBS. All tennis from Miami)

Andy Roddick beat Roger Federer Monday night in Miami. I actually threw a victory parade for A-Rod in Monkton (we call this “The Cornfield of Heroes”) but not even my girlfriend attended.

Look, I’m excited about Andy Roddick. Deal with it. You know what else I’m excited about? A picture of The Pope in a sombrero…

6. NHL: Buffalo Sabres @ Washington Capitals (Tuesday 7pm from Verizon Center live on Comcast SportsNet), Washington Capitals @ Boston Bruins (Thursday 7pm from Boston live on Comcast SportsNet/NHL Network), Montreal Canadiens @ Washington Capitals (Saturday 7pm from Verizon Center live on Comcast SportsNet/NHL Network), Washington Capitals @ Tampa Bay Lightning (Monday 7pm from Tampa live on Comcast SportsNet/NBC Sports Network)

We’re approaching the end of the NHL regular season. Apparently the Caps are in a fight for a playoff spot in the Eastern Conference. This is NOT something I care much about.

Also something I don’t care much about? Why this picture of Sara Jean Underwood, Rosie Jones, Victoria Moore and Emma Glover was taken. (Hint: I don’t care because it’s glorious. Why WOULD I care?)

5. NFL Owners Meetings (Tuesday & Wednesday from West Palm Beach, FL live coverage on ESPN/NFL Network/Nestor Aparicio on site for AM1570 on Twitter); “An Evening With Joe Flacco” (Monday 7pm from Bill Bateman’s Perry Hall on AM1570

I’m very confused. What could the National Football League be doing in West Palm? Tim Tebow isn’t there. There couldn’t possibly be anything happening there more significant than him.

By the way, want to know why the Ravens would bring back a 35 year old Brendon Ayanbadejo? I think he answered that question on his personal Facebook page…

I look exactly like that with my shirt off…just fatter…and whiter.
