Towson moves into first place tie in CAA with big win at Maine

So much for that loss to Delaware stalling the Towson Tigers.

A week after a disappointing home loss to the Blue Hens, Towson traveled to Orono, Maine on Saturday and knocked off previously undefeated Maine, 40-30.

The victory gives the Tigers a 5-1 mark in the CAA, matching the conference record of Maine.

The Towson offense was led by the running back duo of Terrance West and Tremayne Dameron. West ran for three TD’s on Saturday, giving him 21 for the season, and picked up 183 yards on the ground. Dameron enjoyed a terrific first half and had a 3rd quarter TD while finishing the day with 109 yards on the ground.

Quarterback Grant Enders had a TD run and a TD pass, going 6-for-13 on the day.

It was a day, as noted by Enders’ throwing numbers, that featured Towson’s ground attack virtually every series.

The Tigers return to action next Saturday (3:30pm) at home against New Hampshire.
