Big Ten reveals Maryland basketball’s 2018-19 conference schedule

ROSEMONT, Ill. – The Big Ten announced the conference’s 2018-19 schedule in a release Tuesday. Maryland and each member institution will play 20 conference games for the first time this upcoming season, including two B1G contests in the month of December.

The Terps will open up their 2018-19 conference schedule on Saturday, December 1 with a home matchup vs. Penn State. UMD will go on the road for its first away contest in conference play on Thursday, December 6 to face Purdue.

Maryland will ring in the New Year with a home game vs. Nebraska (Jan. 2), before traveling to Rutgers (Jan. 5) and Minnesota (Jan. 8) for consecutive road games. UMD will play a two game home stand against Indiana (Jan. 11) and Wisconsin (Jan. 14), before hitting the road for another two-game stretch against Ohio State (Jan. 18) and Michigan State (Jan. 21).

Maryland’s game vs. Illinois will be held at Madison Square Garden in conjunction with the Big Ten’s “Super Saturday – College Hoops & Hockey” doubleheader on Saturday, January 26. After a XFINITY Center matchup with Northwestern (Jan. 29), the Terps will be back on the road for a pair of games at Wisconsin (Feb. 1) and Nebraska (Feb. 6).

Maryland returns home on February 12 for its second matchup of the season with Purdue, before heading to Michigan (Feb. 16) and Iowa (Feb. 19).

The Terps will wrap up their 2019 conference slate with three of their final four games in College Park, taking on Ohio State (Feb. 23) at home before wrapping up road play with a February 27 matchup at Penn State. Michigan will travel to XFINITY for a game on March 3, before UMD plays its regular season finale on Friday, March 8 at home vs. Minnesota.

The 2019 Big Ten Men’s Basketball Tournament will be held March 13-17 at the United Center in Chicago, Illinois.
