Coppin F Ellis Named MEAC Player of the Week

NORFOLK, Va. — Coppin State senior Akeem Ellis has been named the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference Player of the Week the league announced on Monday.

Ellis was named to the all-tournament team at the Elgin Baylor Classic after averaging 20.0 points, 8.0 rebounds and 5.0 assists per game in the Eagles two games.

He had 24 points and seven rebounds against San Jose State and then had 16 points, nine rebounds and eight assists in CSU’s victory over Nebraska Omaha.

For the two games, he shot 51.9 percent from the floor and made 33.3 percent of his three-point attempts.
