#8 — Derrick Mason
Perhaps no other offensive player who spent time with the Ravens in the mid 2000’s “deserved” to win a title more than Derrick Mason, who played six seasons in Baltimore and didn’t advance to a Super Bowl, let alone earn a ring. Mason caught 103 passes in 2007, thus becoming the first-ever Raven to hit the three-digit mark in receptions for a single season. Arguably his most memorable Ravens game came in 2008 when the Ravens and Dallas Cowboys closed down the old Texas Stadium and Mason — suffering from a severe shoulder injury that severely limited his mobility – hauled in six catches for 66 yards and a TD as the Ravens knocked off the Cowboys in a game that turned out to be huge for Baltimore’s second straight trip to the post-season. He was also a tireless worker in the community with his Derrick Mason Foundation and continues to make trips to Baltimore to provide services to local youth through his Foundation.
