Despite not being selected in the 2017 NBA draft, former Maryland guard Melo Trimble has found his first professional opportunity.

According to ESPN, Trimble agreed to a deal with the Philadelphia 76ers and will play for their summer league team in an effort to crack next year’s roster. The 6-foot-3, 185-pound Trimble faces an uphill battle as an undrafted free agent, but the 76ers do not have deep depth at point guard, creating a decent opportunity for the former Terp to stick with a young team.

Trimble, 22, chose to forgo his senior season at Maryland to play professionally.
