Friday Morning’s Crabs and Beer

April 03, 2009 | Glenn Clark

After hearing what David Cordish had to say this morning; I understand his desire to purchase Pimlico and Laurel MUCH more than I previously did. He is realistically hoping to subsidize his own investment by taking money from slots and putting it directly towards the tracks. Plus he wants to keep Preakness in Baltimore AND wants to upgrade the area around Pimlico. I like all of that.

He’s my leader in the clubhouse.

Let’s see what everyone else has to say….

Here are some weekend picks….
Maryland 9, Navy 7. The Terps will have the opportunity to shake off their marathon game a week ago; and Navy probably won’t be the team to try to get into a track meet.
UMBC 12, Binghamton 7. The Retrievers were so impressive in their win over Towson Tuesday night; I’m not sure how I could even pick this game to be close.
Loyola 9, Rutgers 6. I don’t care much for the Scarlet Knights; but I also hope the Greyhounds don’t have a hangover factor after their disappointment a week ago.
Johns Hopkins 11, Albany 6. The Jays REALLY need this win.

I’ll check in at some point this weekend before a 15-7-0 Sunday.
