I knew Matt Kuchar was going to win “The Players” before he knew…

File this one under “Put that in your pipe and smoke it”.

Last Tuesday, May 8, I welcomed Rex Hoggard of The Golf Channel to The Morning Reaction and we discussed the 2012 edition of The Players at TPC Sawgrass.

As I like to do prior to any “big” golf tournament, I gave Hoggard the name of the winner two days in advance of the tournament actually starting.

Keep in mind 156 of the world’s best golfers teed it up at Sawgrass, minus a couple of studs like Dustin Johnson (injured) and Bubba Watson (post-Masters hangover).

So…will someone please explain to me how on earth a dummy in Baltimore who doesn’t know anything (that’s me) could have possibly picked the WINNER of the event last Tuesday…

Don’t believe that I picked the winner?

Well — you should go ahead and listen RIGHT HERE and, well, get your pipe filled up.  The winning prediction comes right around the 3:30 mark of the interview.

I’m also the guy who picked Louis Oosthuizen to win this year’s Masters a few days in advance of the tournament starting.  But he didn’t win.  He lost in a playoff.

Matt Kuchar won yesterday though.

I knew he was going to win about five days before he knew.

You are red hot this year! You really need to put some dough on this in Vegas. You wouldn’t have to work for a while if your luck continues. I remember a guy betting a 100 on Nick Price to win the British Open a few years ago out in Vegas. The odds were pretty good. I was standing next to him as Price made the winning putt. Price jumped pretty high, but nothing compared to the guy next to me! Something I’ll never forget and I didn’t even make any money on it. Go for it Drew!
