Layman expected to miss 4-6 weeks with hand injury

COLLEGE PARK, Md. – Maryland men’s basketball head coach Mark Turgeon announced today junior Jake Layman fractured a bone in his left hand during a voluntary team pickup basketball game. Layman is expected to miss four-to- six weeks and will not need surgery. He is expected to be fully recovered when the team begins practice in September.

Layman appeared in 32 games (28 starts), averaging 11.7 points and 5.0 rebounds while averaging a team-high 31.8 minutes per game. He led the Terps with 61 3-pointers made, shooting 37 percent from beyond the arc.
