Postgame Notes – No. 25 Maryland at No. 8 Florida State

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. –
Kicking It Off: Maryland suffered its first loss of the season falling to Florida State, 63-0, on Saturday. The Terps fall to 4-1 overall, and 0-1 in the ACC. The Seminoles improve to 5-0 and 3-0 in the ACC. Florida State now leads the all-time series 22-2 and is 12-0 all-time at Doak Campbell Stadium against the Terps.
Under Center: With quarterback C.J. Brown out due to injury, Caleb Rowe stepped in midway through the second quarter and completed 9–of-17 passes for 119 yards. Rowe’s long pass of the day was a 26-yard completion to wide receiver Nigel King late in the third quarter.
On the Receiving End: Eight different Terps caught passes on Saturday led by wide receiver Deon Long. The junior wideout caught three passes for 77 yards and averaged 25.7 yards per catch. Nigel King had a season-high 46 receiving yards on three receptions, while Stefon Diggs finished with two receptions for 24 yards.
Defensive Notes: Defensive backs Sean Davis led the Terps with a career-high 12 tackles and a team-best nine solo … Anthony Nixon also totaled a career high with 10 tackles, eight solo … defensive lineman Andre Monroe recorded his second sack of the season on Saturday and finished with three tackles for loss totaling 15 yards … linebacker Cole Farrand added a tackle for a loss of two yards … defensive lineman Zeke Riser saw his first action of the season and finished with one tackle.
