On one side; I agree with Drew. I think it is very likely that Ray Lewis said something to DeMarcus Ware along the lines of “I don’t know what’s gonna happen with all of this; but I might want to be a Cowboy.” DeMarcus Ware might have decided to run with that.
Or maybe Ray Lewis actually told him that he REALLY wanted to be a Cowboy, no matter what.
There are a couple of things to be pointed out…..
1-It is Ray’s fault and ONLY Ray’s fault that he is even in this position. Ray should have come out from Day 1 and said “I want to be in Baltimore; and I hope they want me here.” Had he said that; Ravens fans wouldn’t be NEARLY as up in arms or willing to say “good riddance” to the star linebacker; and might be more apt to defend Ray when hearing stories like DeMarcus Ware’s.
2-I would not be the LEAST bit surprised if the story was true, however. As I said when talking to Ross Tucker of Sports Illustrated last week; I think Ray is MUCH more concerned about being a football icon than he is about being a Baltimore Raven. Ray might very well want to wear the same jersey as he’s seen Michael Irvin, Deion Sanders, Terrell Owens, etc. wear. I don’t doubt that for a second.
Let’s see what everyone else has to say…..

SOME QUICK THOUGHTS:
-Congratulations to SunTrust Athlete of the Morning Nick Groce. Groce-a future UMBC Retriever-scored 26 points to lift St. Mary’s to a 62-60 victory over Pallotti in the MIAA “B” conference final.
-In talking to a few people, I really believe that any combination that gets Maryland to 8-8 in the ACC at this point will probably be enough to get them in. With two wins over top 5 teams (so far); and with the lack of depth in conferences across the country; the Terps would be in very good position to get a bid.
-Morgan State 75, Hampton 65. I just don’t see a stumble between now and the NCAA Tournament for Todd Bozeman’s Bears.
-Coppin State 67, Howard 61. I just don’t see a stumble between now and the MEAC Championship for Fang Mitchell’s Eagles.
Talk to you tomorrow.
