I want to be excited about Opening Day, I really do. In fact, I’m trying to convince myself that I am; I’m just struggling in that effort. Anyone have any suggestions as to how I can help myself get excited about today? Spare me the “there are young players coming.” That’s nice and all; but they’re not here. This is just a decent group of 9 players and a HISTORICALLY bad group of pitchers.
But they’re still 0-0 for now. And I guess there will always be Opening Day memories, even if the teams are bad. The snow game against the Indians when Jay Gibbons lost the ball in the weather was fun; and Miguel Tejada’s grand slam in 2002 was fun too.
Let’s see what everyone else has to say…..

SOME QUICK THOUGHTS:
-Best of luck to Kyle Boller, really. He was really a hell of a guy; and will be missed. And also, like everything I heard about James Padgett and Jordan Williams; but it doesn’t mean a thing.
Talk to you tomorrow.
