Morgan adds High Point transfer Cornish to hoops roster

BALTIMORE, Md. – Morgan State University men’s basketball team has added High Point transfer Cliff Cornish for the 2014-15 season.

A 6-foot-8, 240 pound forward and Baltimore native, transferred from High Point University and will be a redshirt sophomore with the Bears.

Prior to playing at HPU, Cornish averaged 15 points, 10 rebounds at North County High School during his senior year, helping the team to a county playoff berth. Additionally, he helped lead St. Paul’s School to a 20-7 overall record and a 17-3 mark in the B Conference in 2010-11. Cornish averaged 14 points and 10 rebounds as a junior.

Cornish is one of eight student-athletes who will be new to the Bears’ roster next season. He will also be the third transfer to join the squad.

Morgan State head coach Todd Bozeman has led NCAA appearances in 2009 and 2010. MSU has won three MEAC Tournaments (1977, 2009 & 2010) and made its sixth championship appearance in eight seasons under Coach Bozeman. The Bears finished the 2013-14 season with a 15-16 record.
