Morgan State’s Bozeman suspended indefinitely

January 09, 2012 | WNST Staff

An altercation that took place in the closing minutes of Saturday’s win over South Carolina State has resulted in the indefinite suspension of Morgan State basketball coach Todd Bozeman.

Bozeman told The Sun on Sunday night he had been suspended with pay by athletic director Floyd Kerr after eyewitnesses alleged the Morgan coach punched senior guard Larry Bastfield. The suspension is pending an investigation.

Bastfield and Bozeman told the newspaper the incident has been blown out of proportion, with the guard saying he overreacted to the contact made by the head coach.

With the Bears in Savannah, Ga. preparing to take on Savannah State Monday night, Bozeman was instructed by his athletic director to return to Baltimore. The coach will meet with Kerr on Monday regarding the incident, and Bozeman has been instructed not to have any contact with his assistant coaches or players until further notice.
