On the eve of playing a do-or-die game against Duke, Maryland and Coach Mark Turgeon will be playing with a shorter lineup against the elite ACC team.

Opening up his press conference Friday, Turgeon announced that point guard Pe’Shon Howard will be suspended  for violation of team rules.

Turgeon did not specify what Howard did to warrant the suspension, and he did not reveal the length of the suspension.

“[Pe'Shon's] not making very smart decisions. We’ve got team rules you’ve got to follow. We’ll sit him out this game.”

Turgeon did say that he will meet with Howard after Saturday’s game.

Nick Faust and Seth Allen will split point guard reps at Friday’s practice, and both will be expected to see action in Saturday’s game against Duke.

Howard is only averaging 3.3 PPG this season, and has not started for Maryland in the last eight games.
